Depends on what you're looking for exactly (heavy bass or distortion free, crystal clear sound, or both?)

Some good information and posts can be found here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-levinson.html

Cool

Honestly I am very disappointed and un-impressed with the ML system... The bass sounds like I have a speaker blown and at times the high, mids, and bass are all out of whack where I have to consistently play around with it to get descent sound.

Even though my "bumping" days are over, there are those days when Vanilla Ice comes on and I just wanna jam... but cant

I recommend aftermarket if you are looking to "bump". ML probably the biggest disappointment of the car.

Thank you for your feedback! I was not sure but based on the forum that was forwarded and some comments it seems like I can just add/replace some speakers and what not to get a sound as close to ML or even better without cashing out $1400 thanks guys.

The standard, premium Non-ML system with a an aftermarket sub might do the trick for most folks.

ML is just Class. However it's simply a matter of taste. I will speak for myself, nothing comes close to ML in my opinion

ML is just Class.
...and it so seamlessly is integrated into the car. But the best choice is always what is best for your ears.

The ML sounds great...I'm going to dynomat to get more from the mids. I think OP can do better with 1400 in aftermarket though. The blend is very nice on the ML though. (Minus the sub).

going to go aftermarket, will probably begin a build thread, consult some friends about which speakers to go. It is great to have electrical engineers/car friends that can help with the wiring too .

audiofrog might do the trick, they have 4" speakers that could do it on the dash. do 8" on the doors...and you might just not have a need for a sub. Anyhow, let's see that build thread

i'm quite impressed with the ML, if you were REALLY picky i wonder if you could use the factory speaker placement and then upgrade the speakers or amps as needed?
