Default 2013 Luxury going in for 1st service. bucket list?

Taking the whip in for it's first service.
Yes, almost 3 years and only 9,100 miles on it.

I've kept up with the oil changes, but have avoided letting the dealership touch her.

I have the wicked sunroof rattle, but I'd like to know exactly how they plan to fix it before I give them the go-ahead. (Is there a way to adjust it or they have to rip out the entire roof?)

Any other issues i should be aware of?

Lexus insider website says that i don't have any recalls.

You're still under warranty, I'd get all the gremlins and rattles addressed. Also, try to get the GPS map updated and the personalized settings adjusted (usually free).

The donuts and coffee in the waiting room are free, also. If you use the Yelp app, "checking in" gets you a freebie or a discount on goods.

NAV map updates are definitely not free.

Last time I spoke with my service advisor in Kearny Mesa Lxus, he said they charge for updating maps? lol. I have a 14, is it current?

Check your NAV map information and see what year (version) it is. I'm guessing since your car is a 2014 that your NAV map is either dated 2013 or 2014.

The latest map is 2015 - Map Version 1-15-17 [2015-06-1]

You can buy the Nav update disk on Ebay ( I got mine for around $30) and save yourself some money. It upgraded my maps just fine.

What year and model did you update?

Probably a burned copy. The Ebay seller is making his money back by selling illegal(?) copies.

I don't know it looked pretty legit to me. The car was a 2007 ES 350. I would go out and look at it but I sold it 2 days ago.

Your old 2007 ES 350 was a Generation 5 map update, which took a DVD. The 2013-2016 GS 350 is Generation 7, 8 or 9 map update and takes specialized activation off Lexus' 'Master' server to download the map update specifically to a particular vehicle's VIN# using either a USB or a Micro SD.

Wait, I thought there were no map updates for the '13?

What was the cost of updating the map, if you don't mind?

The price is $169.00 plus $100-$130 installation charge. It takes 1-2 hours to download the map update from Lexus servers and then install the map update to the vehicle's NAV system. However, I received my map update at no charge - a one-time goodwill gesture. Here's why there was no charge...

When I took my car in for the map update, this is what happened to me. The first time I took it in to my local Lexus dealership (with an appointment and loaner car) the Lexus computer that handles the map updates nationwide (not located at the dealership) crashed and they couldn't even begin the download of the map update. The second time I took it in (with an appointment and loaner car) they began the download of the map update, but Lexus' computer crashed before they got finished. The third time I took it in (with an appointment and loaner car) they were finally able to download and update the NAV with the latest v15.1 map update. When I returned to pick up my car my service advisor told me the map update was done at no-charge as a one-time goodwill gesture because it took three trips to finally get the NAV map updated. I did not complain nor did I ask for any price reduction because of the two previous times. This goodwill gesture saved me around $300. ($169 plus 1 hour labor at $130 hr.), which I really didn't mind paying. It was not a big inconvenience for me because the Lexus dealership is only a few miles from my house, and I received a loaner each time. Anyway, the entire map update usually takes between one and two hours, with the longest part of the process being the transfer or download of map data from the Lexus server to the dealership's computer (I'm told). The final time they kept my car a total of 3.5 hours, which was over the typical lunch period.
