Looking Back....2001 GS430 and 1999 GS400 Lease Prices
Was going through the old threads in the 2nd gen GS section, found a few regarding lease prices and payments, its amazing that 15-16 years ago, people were paying over 800 dollars a month for the GS430, looks like Lexus has come along way with there lease deals and incentives....BTW, that GS400 and GS430 will always be a legend to me....that was the dream car of mine and had the poster on my wall growing up....perfect combo for sports and luxury for its time...I wish the GSF had more of the wood and luxury trim of the GS430 with that beast of a motor....that's my walk down memory lane!

Couldn't agree with you more on the GS430! I had that car for 10years and loved it through and through. Couple of shots of mine the day I traded it in :

Thanks man! I appreciate it - I spent countless hours cleaning, waxing and washing that car! I even bought chrome polish for those 16" chrome stockies! Heater core went bad and it started feeling like things were getting too costly to fix so traded it in...never had an accidents in it and it had *****!
It was also somewhat of a sleeper car - I surprised lot of people off the line with that car b/c they thought it was the standard V6 with just some shiny OEM shoes
I feel like if today's GS had a similarly equipped V8 like the old GS400/430/460's, i'd def. consider it. If Lexus ever mentions a revival of the "GS4xx" with a nice 350+ ponies..that would make my year!

I hear ya...8 years?? I've had the same 300 ponies for a dozen (used 01' GS430 to a used '11 IS350 to now a used '13 GS350)!
Does any one GS you've owned stand out more than the other to you? How does your '15 compare to the '08?

Personally, my 08 just felt more luxurious and refined, maybe because it was my 1st Lexus coming from a Pontiac, that was def my favorite besides the 2nd Gen I never had the chance to own, the 4th Gen has the best looking exterior, especially fsport and GSF. I'm hoping the 5th gen in a few years is the best of all, hoping for a GS500 or at least 400 hp model, step under the GSF with all the luxury options, we'll see

Thats what I've been trying to tell you guys freaking out about paying $700 a month for a $60k GS lol. My Dad's 98 LS400 was $59k and his payment was over $1,000 per month. My LS460 was $79k and my payment is $950. Remember when you factor in inflation those 1998 dollars are worth more than todays dollars.
Leases are good today guys, be happy.
