Talking 100 MPH+ Runs...

So I had the opportunity to take my GS and flex its muscles and go past 100 MPH on a 10-mile closed road today. Yea if u live in SoCal u know damn well we're lucky if we can go past 25MPH on a daily commute.

Let me just say that the GS is a great commuter car and an amazing machine when pushed hard. It's dead quiet inside and feels so planted all around. The FSport in Sport+ really shows its capabilities here, it just wants to keep going and doesn't run out of breath. Well, the driver does... And the sound when going through all the RPM range!!! Can't imagine how the V8 GS-F drives..

And the best thing is I don't have to go see a mechanic after cause it's a Toyota!

Anyway, that's it.

How fast did you go if i may ask? I once got my car up to 140 with 5 people in it. I'm sure it could of gone more but I chickened out.

About 115-120 then I let go. I rarely go over 90 and kept thinking if something jumped in front of me I'm toast! Cause this was only a single lane road but with plenty of shoulder space.

Damn! how did it feel at 140? Isn't it governed at 145 or something?

It felt the same as 100mph, wind noise was quite loud though, and I wanted to see what happened when you got to the 144 limiter but a slight turn came up I doubt the cars ability to take it.

Yea I was curious if there was a governor in our cars. I took it up to 135mph once and it could have kept going, but I chickened out and let off. hahah

What's the speed rating on these Potenza tires? 200MPH+? Don't want them to pop at 140.

Every time you post pictures of your Liquid Platinum GS, I begin to second guess my color choice. Nice!

It's the express lane in I-10, it's a separate and closed road cause u have to pay to use it and nobody wants to pay during non rush hour so it's always empty. What's great about it is that lane is not even next to the normal traffic, it's isolated far away from the freeway and u won't even know there is such lane unless u've been there.
