Default 2015 GS450h - Self-folding wing mirrors: Car Wash??

My 2015 has self-stowing (folding) side mirrors. When I lock the car, the mirrors automatically fold in (nice feature).

Problem: I am concerned about going through a car wash. If I provide the attendant the remote fob to move the car, and the attendant does not lock the door (they never do) then the wing mirrors to not stow. I'm concerned they will get knocked out of place by the car wash and break.

Can these side mirrors be moved by hand? or will that break the self-moving mechanism?

On the driver's door, there should be a button by the mirror adjustment buttons that allows you to fold the mirrors instead of using the auto function.

My 2013's side mirrors don't fold and there's no issues with the car wash here.

^ same for me. The mirrors aren't made of cheap material so you don't have anything to worry about.

You can always manually fold the side mirrors.

Well yeah, but the point is the mirrors don't need to be folded and can go through a car wash just fine.

That's it! Thank you! It wasn't covered in the Owner's Manual...

Yea I never fold my mirrors when washing. I'm more concern about the scratches from those auto washes than my mirrors.

Pressure washer style washes only...

That being said, why not just fold the mirrors yourself (if that is how you want it to go through the wash)? Then turn the auto function back on once you get it back? You turn the auto sense wipers off?

If you have auto-folding mirrors do not fold them manually as you will destroy the gears in the mirror which are plastic,14 and up has auto folding mirrors 13 does not. If you need to close them yourself before a wash just click the auto button near the mirror and then close them with the button yourself, if you need a video on it let me know and I'll make it.

Yeah they're not made with cheap material so you should be fine always leave them opened when washing though.

I had issues going thru car wash with the mirrors unfolded. I found it vibrating and I had to change both my side mirrors after a while. Now I fold it every time I go thru wash.

If I go through a wash I make sure I press the button to fold them in, before the attendant manually force them in...

I fold my mirrors in but then the person who dries the car tries to manually pull them out.
