Default 2016 GS: Average Fuel Economy.

So I have clocked about 1100 miles since picking up my 2016 F Sport last month. As some of you know, I traded up from a 2014 IS350 F Sport with the same engine.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the fuel economy of this vehicle during the break in period, as I am seeing about 22 MPG in mixed driving 50 50 urban and highway. Is this what everyone else is seeing as well? I consistently got about 22 in the IS and expected that the added weight of the larger GS would increase fuel consumption. BTW.. I only drive in S+ and shift manually. I took it easy for the 650 mile break in.

My GS AWD is a '15 so not quite the same engine, but I am having to stay out of Sport S just to squeeze out 15 mpg. On my '14 IS350 AWD I was averaging about 20. I'm at about 800 miles so far.

Peoples mpgs on this forum for the GS is either great or bad. For some reason half of the GS owners here get better than 22 mpgs while driving aggressively. While the other half gets less than 18 mpgs and barely breathing on the throttle while in eco mode. It just doesnt make any sense and very inconsistent. I drive my GS hard in sport+ mode at all times and regularly do full throttle on almost every freeway ramp and I still get 23 to 24 mpg average. When I drive 90% freeway I can push that numbet up to 30 Mpgs. I drive a 2014 GS 350 RWD luxury with RCF staggard forged fsport wheels.

I have an awd 15 f sport with 500 miles. Best I've gotten is 21mpg on highway. Right now dash says average after refueling says 13.7 mpg. I drive in eco mode 99% of the time. This is why I wish the automakers would get sued over the false window sticker. I should be able to get close to the 19 mpg city it claims. I would be happy with 15 mpg city in sport+ mode.

I was able to get 23 on an all highway trip, which was fine with me. The 15 around town is disappointing, but I can live with it.

Automakers won't get sued for the mileage claims unless it is shown they did the testing or reporting incorrectly. They are not making you a promise of what you will get, they are reporting the results of the EPA defined tests.

Man I swear I get better gas mileage in sport mode vs ECO. I was in ECO most of the time in the first 100 miles or so in my 2016, and was having a hard time getting the tank AVG up, but when I switched to Sport it seemed like I was able to boost it up. Weird. My previous 2013 lifetime avg around 18.3 with 80% city and 20% Hwy. Mostly in sport mode. Still too early to say with the 2016...only at 400 miles now.

My 2013's mpg has considerably increased, my work commute has become more hwy and I keep it on ECO setting. On top of that, the 91 octane prices are falling a bit. A double bonus?

On my 15 GS - I drive it in ECO mode 99% of the time.
I get 16-17mpg - 80% city - 20% highway

255-260 miles full tank - Chevron premium 91

On the 10 GS again I drive it same way but I put less miles on it.
I get 21-22 mpg

300-310 miles full tank.

I have noticed since I got the car I have gotten 378 miles to a tank in normal mode. Some times it's a little more but usually average 378 miles to a tank before I need to fill up.

I'm getting about 205-210 miles per tank with 93 octane.

In my 2016 RWD F-Sport, I consistently get 25-26 MPG, all in town driving, never using ECO mode. I filled my tank yesterday. The computer indicated 25.5 MPG since fill-up. I had driven 386.4 miles, it required 14.87 gallons for the fill-up, so it works out to 25.98 MPG. I usually use mid-grade gas. It is all a matter of driving style, IMHO.

I have been getting between 350 and 375 miles per tank on my '15 GS base RWD. I use normal mode all the time in pretty evenly mixed city/hwy.

It would be interesting to know the average Speed along with the MPG. In heavy stop-'n-go city driving the average speed may be only 12-15 mph.

My computer says 26 MPH. The long term MPG is 26.2 MPG.
