Default GS350 AWD F-sport brakes

Hi all,

This is my first post here as I've just taken ownership for a new-to-me 2013 GS350 AWD F-sport. I've been snooping around this forum before taking the plunge to purchase and have found very helpful tips here, so thanks!

Now, I would like to seek your help regarding brake pads for my AWD F-sport, which I plan to order online and DIY. I'm seeing conflicting information on the differences in the brakes between GS350 non-F-sport, GS350 F-sport AWD and GS350 F-sport RWD. Is it correct that only the F-sport RWD has unique/bigger front 2-piece rotors? By implication, does that mean the AWD F-sport actually just has the same brakes(rotor+pads) as non-F-sport models all round?

I have tried to search through old threads but just could not quite find the precise answer as most of you guys seem to have RWD F-sport's.

Thanks!

This is coming from the Lexus Brochure.

GS350 F Sport AWD: 13.1-in ventilated front discs with two-piston calipers, 12.2-in ventilated rear discs with single-piston-sliding calipers

GS350 RWD/AWD: 13.1-in ventilated front discs with two-piston calipers, 12.2-in ventilated rear discs with single-piston-sliding calipers

All GS's have 4 piston front and single piston rear.

The caliper design on the RWD F-Sport is slightly different to accommodate for the larger rotors.

If you doubt what I'm saying, just remove the pads a see for yourself.

Thanks! Just the info I'm looking for to upgrade my OEM rotors to aftermarket

This is precisely why I had been confused, why do I keep reading the front are 4 piston but official materials states 2 pistons?

Anyways, I guess I will know for sure when I take it apart.. I just hate tearing stuff apart and finding I have the wrong parts and having to put it back together.

Other than that, how many miles do you guys get out of your front pads on average? I know it depends on driving style/pattern, but I'm seeing some posts state it's all worn by 20k miles which seems ridiculously low to me.

If you look at the pics on the first page of this post https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...s-f-sport.html you will see there are clearly only 2 pistons on the front calipers. Also, as Bartman619 mentioned, the 2013 Lexus brochure clearly states that only the F-Sport RWD has 4 position calipers.

Thanks for the part numbers! I already ordered the ACT 1118s but for a while I couldn't figure out which part number was for our rears. Many thanks!

There are 4 pistons per front caliper. They are opposing face pistons. Take off your caliper and check. I have replaced pads, hence already know.

I know this thread is for the AWD F Sport, but what exactly is the Akebono Part No. for the 2016 RWD F Sport front brake pads?
