I just removed my headliner and had it rewrapped in suede.
I didn't want to remove either of the windshields so instead I removed the center console and the driver front seat. I was then able to remove the headliner through the front door. In reality the front seat does not even have to be removed. I put the headliner back in the car with the front seat in place. So only need to remove the center console.
here are some pics.

Remove door sills (snapped on with clips)
Remove bottom half of B pillars (Clips)
upper half is held on with 2 screws and clips
A pillars (clips but the first clip, closest to the headliner, has to be spun around about 180 degrees to completely remove the A pillar) it will make sense when you look at it,
Remove handles on headliner, visors, and front reading lights assembly (pretty self explanatory)
To remove the headliner you need to remove the center console.
First pry off the piece of the dashboard where the start button is. (it wraps around the radio as well)
It will just pop out.
Then remove the 2 pieces of leather that run along both sides of the center console, between the seats and the radio. Also held on by cipl. Just pull upwards and out.
There will be 2 screws on the driverside of the shifter. remove those.
Remove cup holder assembly. (Lifts up)
Remove shift ****
remove woodgrain assembly around shift ****. (lifts straight up.
Behind where the cup holder assembly was, remove one bolt attached to a metal plate. Then remove metal plate.
Underneath where the shifter assembly was, there will be 2 bolts that need to be removed.
Then remove the rear passenger vents/outlet assembly. It will pry out. Use a plastic tool so you dont damage your console.
Once removed you will see two more bolts that you need to remove.
then just pull back and lift the entire console and it will come out.
The center console was very easy to do. 15mins or less.
All bolts were 10mm (i believe)
Good luck!!

No way, too many wires and things exposed/hanging! I left the car at the shop and they actually removed the sunroof shade. (I have a few other cars to drive in the mean time not sure how exactly they did it because I wasn't there but it isn't too difficult. I did it on my old Lexus gs430 a couple years ago and it really wasn't that difficult. Pretty self explanatory when you look at it with the headliner removed.
