Hi, I have about 325 miles on my new f sport and after refueling I have realized that the MPG figures on the dash for "after refueling " are computed using the full tank size of 17.4 gallons instead of the amount of gallons ( about 15 gallons) needed to reach E on my the gas meter. When I do the math manually I see that my mpg is actually about 2 gallons per mile more than the dash states. Is there a way to adjust the dash to read all 17.4 gallons of the gas tank for the trip range?

When the trip range reaches zero does a new range show up or does it just read zero while driving on the last 2 gallons of the tank? Seeing 12.3 mpg after refueling is killing me!

I haven't taken my GS tank down low, but on my IS, when I'd get down to 0 range left, the range display goes away and just states "REFUEL".

The car will hit 0 and stay that way for the reserve 2 gallons until you refuel.

Is there a way to set the trip computer to show the range for the full 17.4 gallon tank size? This way we know exactly how long we can drive the car until we run out of gas and also get a true mpg reading on the dash?

The computer does not use the tank volume in its calculations, so that won't impact the reading.

As far as getting a true range, no, it cannot be adjusted. Anything beyond 0 miles remaining is a safety buffer/reserve.

Don't expect accurate numbers on your first or even second tank of fuel. It takes a few tanks to get an average.

Thank you for the replies and info. I'm just annoyed because after refueling mpg on dash says 12 mpg and average mpg says 11.4. I've only refueled once since getting the car so I'll wait a few more tanks to see if things get better. I didn't get this car anticipating excellent mpg but expected to get atleast 15 mpg in city driving since the sticker say 19mpg city.

I have had my GS for three and a half years. I consistently get 25-26 MPG in town, 28-30 on the highway, based on fuel used and miles driven. The computer indicates about a half an MPG less.

I'm jealous!!! Is your gs awd or rwd? I drive in eco mode and still getting 12 mpg on the dash

I have a RWD F-Sport. I never use eco mode. I tried it, and it seemed to make no difference in my MPG.

how do you get 26 mpg in city driving when the sticker says 19 mpg city?

I never got 26 in the city in my IS, despite it weighing less than my GS. I got around 18-19 city and 23-26 highway. I'll be happy if my GS gets close to that. I'm at about 14-15 city right now (but did get 23 on a highway trip). I'm not reading anything into it as I'm only a few tanks in and am still breaking it in.

I drive the car, not the sticker, and that is the mileage I get. Maybe the car forgot to read the sticker. Here is the computer read-out today, 362.3 miles after a fill up, 100% in town (Tucson) driving.

I get 15-19 mpg in city driving...and that is when I'm very gentle on the throttle and time the stoplights so I don't have to stop. Never do I get anything even remotely close to 26 mpg in city driving - usually it's closer to half that!

I get 25MPG with mostly highway. City probably 12-14
