Yes, that's what I do - never trust high tech to alert you - a last second quick change by another driver to your side can give you a false sense of safety and you might be at fault.

I always turn my head before making any lane changes...

I was thinking the other way around - if the light is on I wouldn't even consider switching lanes. It sucks for me because I was quoted only $16 more per month for the blind spot, park assist, and premium package but I was about an hour late for my appointment when I went to the dealer and someone test drove and claimed my GS. I ended up getting a solid discount but still

i wish paid $16/month for those options
