2016 gs f & 2016 gs350 lease prices are here!

I am actually paying only $550 a month x 60 comes out to just $33k out of my pocket and no more payment after 5 years. While you are paying for a lease on a 2015 GS for $500 a month for the rest of your life. I will come out better in the long run. This is a no brainer. Your 2015 and mine 2014 GS F Sport is the same and nothing different. Your not getting a better car than me! You might have a different car in 3 years but your paying for it with payment for life! I can tell people I own my car. You tell people your borrowing the car from the bank. Since my car will be paid off in 5 years I will have enough money to buy whatever I want with my extra money while your still making payment forever. We really need people like you to lease so that the Lexus Stealership can stay in business! Have a good day.

Take it from someone who has argued this argument many times. All the numbers in the world won't convince people who like to buy used cars and drive them for a long time that leasing is not as expensive as they think.
You've got two entirely different points of view here, two entirely different approaches to live and you may as well be arguing politics or religion. There's no common ground.
My suggestion would be that the moderators remove off topic posts admonishing leasers that show up in these leasing threads and drag them entirely off track and just avoid this debate entirely.

The bottom line is, yes after 5 years the car is paid off. But it's old...and outdated, and will become even more so every year. If that's okay to you, then by all means buy it will be cheaper. But, if you're like me and others here where you want to keep a modern car with modern features (technology is moving so fast) then we're not going to be happy with that old car...paid for or not.
Life isn't about getting through it as cheaply as possible to everyone.

I'm also in the boat for leasing...new cars every few years and constantly having warranty.

Honestly it's not even about having a new car more frequently. It's about losing money. Again, purchasing a car is only worth it if you buy it in its entirety or get it with 0% interest which almost never happens for used cars. With that said if I was to but a car it would be a Tesla since a software update can make those cars up to date
Lexus has 0% on CPO cars a lot.

I always buy used and lease new. Buying a car 1-2 years old with 15-30k miles is going to have a lot of the early deprecitation out of the way and cars these days don't require a lot of maintaince for the first 30k miles. A good mechanic can tell if the car way abused.

the way you put it, I might as well go find a used $1k car that's running and have no payments.
Leases have benefit for many people, especially when they can write it off on taxes.
Here's another scenario.
Buy $80k car, pay 9.5% tax on top (that's $7,600 in taxes right off the bat). So now you're looking at a 87.6k purchase.
some of us want a new car every 2-3 years, so it doesn't make sense to buy and pay that sales tax. By leasing, we're only paying taxes on the portion of the lease payment.
I understand people buy cars and drive it until the wheels fall off and not have payments after 5 years. Great! But do understand the other side as well.

lease vs. buy threads always crack me up
who cares what other people do with their money?
Don't we all love to pick on people who don't share our same thoughts and preferences....

I'm in the process of leasing a '16 F Sport with pretty much every option: MSRP of $61,000. Initial offer was $2,000 knocked off, however the real issue is the residual value. They're using a value of 59% for a 24 month 10k lease! My current 2014 GS 350 lease (27 months, 10k) had a residual of 71%. Sounds out of whack to me, not sure I'll be leasing with those numbers.

This is what I see so far as per Lexus financial website:
2016 GS350 AWD with MSRP of 50,850 + 940 destination, 36month / 12k yr:
$797 per month with $1497 due at signing
2016 GS F AWD $84,440 + 940 destination, 36 month / 12k yr:
$1402 per month with $2102 due at signing
I WILL STAY ENJOYING MY 2015 GS350 F SPORT @ 509 PER MONTH. These prices are ridiculous!!
