Default bought a 2013 GS350 Luxury Package - Hate

Just bought a 2013 GS350 Luxury Package with all these leases ending. Like the ride, looks etc.

Hate the navigation, mouse and front seats after actually trying use it while driving more than 30 min. Wish test drives were an hour or probably would have NOT bought the car as trying use the mouse is so distracting with radiofunctions built into it and seats kill my back.

Also everyone says these seats are so comfortable. At first they ar on the testdrive were, which was 15 min, but they are the worst ever on drives 45min orlonger. The cushioning feels so thin after 30 min and creating a sore back for me at 45 min legs start hurting.

The seats are probably the worst thing for me on this car. Anyone else has this issue with the seats.

Almost every car I drive weekly has more comfortable seats that don’t hurt my back.

My old 2007 Infiniti M, girlfriends Honda Civic, my company cars Ford Fusion’sand Chevy Malibu’s all seats don’t hurt my back like GS350. It’s like sitting on a wood bench.

I did and thats a myth law! I actually looked it up on consumer affairs website. They gave me a loaner ES for the day today because the detailer may have ripped the back seat prior to me picking up the car which is another story. Pisssed about that, but those ES seats are so much more comfortable.

I have to say that reading about the seats in the GS being compared to to a wooden bench is a first. Sorry that you didn't take the time to test drive the vehicle multiple times.

I test drove the GS 350 about 3 times before determining it was the right car for me. The Lexus dealerships in my area are amazing - you basically get a free breakfast every time you go, so if anything.. it was worth it for the free food/snacks/drinks! I also test drove the competitor vehicles at least once. If there was a close competitor that was I seriously considering, I decided to test drive it again.

Buying a vehicle shouldn't be a rushed decision... ESPECIALLY one where you're paying such a large amount.

Anyway, have you tried to compared how the seats in your car compare to another GS? Go to a dealership and compare it to a 2015 GS. Maybe speak to a dealership that will allow you to test drive the car for a day (some even allow buyers to keep cars for an entire weekend). This will provide an indication if there is something wrong with your car.

G'luck sir! I still think that the seats in the Lexus GS are some of the most comfortable that I've ever sat in.. I've made some long commutes with my vehicle too. I have sat in some of the other vehicles you mention & there is no comparison.. especially with a Civic, Fusion, Malibu. lol.

The Luxury GS has the most configurable seats of any Lexus, 18 way. In addition to the
obvious you get front seat edge extender (driver side), both lumbar and pelvic area adjustments,
regular recliner plus an mid shoulder bend that articulates the upper 1/2 of the seat back to
and fro. Add in the side "wing" bolsters and you've got 18. Because all of them are included
in the Memory Setting it is possible you are getting an odd poke in the backside or canted away
upper back resulting in no support, To eliminate the chance that the previous owner was over
sized or extraordinarily heavy and broke the seat mechanism, try to sit in one at your dealer.

He should've sprung for the GS350 D'elegance lol

Also hate all you want, I loved my old 1991 Brougham D'Elegance to death. Best seats ever, plus it actually handled/drove great with a different set of shocks, springs, and sway bars(all were parts off an Impala SS)

I would never buy a car before doing extensive research, checking the forums, reading the reviews and test driving the car a couple of times before making a decision. Something I have to pay a fortune for and live with for at least 3 years deserves more than a quick test drive. Sorry.

P.S. the Sport Seats in my '13 GS F Sport were the most comfortable seats I've ever experienced, so to each his own.

The seats are sporty, and firmer than normal, and I'm sure you'll get used to it long term; initially, I thought the front seats were very firm too. Firm seats are supposed to provide superior support, especially for fast driving.
Ditto the joystick mouse; at first I didn't like it either, but now I think that it's fine, though I still prefer the old GS350's touch screen, and I heard that all manufacturers will move back to touch screens like the iPhone and Tesla S etc.

What's really important is lucky you got the 2013 with softer front coils, softer front dampers, and 18" alloys, because later models actually did firm up the front coils, front dampers, and move to 19" alloys, along with reinforced A pillars etc...
