Picture of Transmission Breather
Dear forummates,
Does anyone know of a manual or diagram that would show where the transmission breather tube is? I've tried the owner's manual to no luck and I've tried shopping for the breather plug and tube online and haven't been able to find a diagram where its marked. I'm looking for this to evaluate how high flood water would have to reach to spill over into the trans through the breather tube...
Thanks in advance.
Nick

The transmission breather vent tube should be located on the highest or uppermost part of the transmission case. Water would have to reach the very top of the transmission case to threaten entry into the transmission.
The end of breather tube is usually oriented and loosely capped so the transmission can 'breathe' (positive pressure pushing gases out and vacuum pulling air in), but won't allow any significant dust/dirt, water spray or other contaminants to enter the transmission.
