Default Strange Issue with Ignition when Starting Car today..

Hi Guys, I had a strange issue today when I left work and started my car.. I got in, put my foot on the brake and pushed the ignition button like normal. The lights all came on for a moment and then everything just went out.. the brake felt stuck and no electronics would work and the engine did not start. I couldnt get anything to work, I thought my battery was dead.. however when I got out of the car (key in my pocket as usual) the car came back to life.. i got in and started and it worked fine.

Anyone have this issue or know what is going on? I hope this is not a recurring problem.

Haven't had this issue, but I would take it into the dealership and have them look at your car if it happens again.

How long has it been since you last changed the batteries in your key fobs?

I just bought the car CPO back in May so I am not sure if these batteries are the originals or not.. but its worth a swap for some new ones.. you think this may be the issue?

I kind of thought your key fob battery may be very weak. Be sure to replace the battery in both of your key fobs. They batteries should last well over a year, however Lexus recommends replacing them once a year. I suspect the battery longevity depends on how often it is used, especially when pressing one of the buttons.

Since your car was a CPO the Lexus dealership should have replaced the battery in both key fobs as standard practice regardless of when the batteries may have last been replaced. It kind of makes you wonder what else they should have done, but didn't! At least the key fob batteries are easy to replace and not very expensive.
