I was installing better lighting in the trunk today and i realized there is no trim on the roof of the trunk - is this normal?

Do you mean the ceiling of the cargo area? Mine is like this too and I thought it was weird for a car in this price range. I have a 2013 too if that helps and maybe they added it for 2014?

To what I think your describing, It's normal. I don't have anything there either on my 2013 GS.

Wow interesting to see how the trunk looks through the years. What is that metal piece there? Mine doesn't have that but it has a plastic handle.

Yea it's a bags hanger. My pics are inside the trunk, not the trunk lid.

ya i think MY 2013 didnt' have the trim...strange.

however it did give me some metal to stick an led slight strip on.

So 13 GS trunk is just bare metal on the inside roof? I don't see any metal part on mine.

Mine looks just like Itz's. No bare metal, all lined.

That is the handle on the inside of the trunk 'lid' to aid in closing the trunk lid.

My 2013 GS 350 (Built October 2012) does not have trim all the way back under the rear deck - well back of where the trunk light is located (toward the front of the car or toward the backseat). You almost have to climb into the trunk to look that far back. You'd never know whether it had trim or not under normal conditions...unless you got drunk and or slept back there with a flashlight to explore around, or you were kidnapped and thrown in the trunk with a flashlight in your pocket (and didn't know to pull the emergency trunk release).
