'13 GS450h and Bigger guy comfort ????
I've got my eye on a very low mileage 2013 GS450h with Luxury package, radar cruise, ML radio etc. I have not sat in a GS yet and I am interested in opinions.
I am a relatively big guy (6' / 240 lbs) with moderate back issues.
In the past I've owned a 2009 LS460 (was fine) and CT200h (was tight)
I currently own a nice SC430 which I fit in fine once I get in it and a RX460h which I fit in fine.
How is the GS for us bigger guys?

I believe it's perfectly fine for the bigger guys. I have friends who are even taller (6'5) that have sat in my hybrid's passenger seat and haven't had much trouble, especially if they slightly lean the seat back.
I honestly wouldn't risk just taking a chance though.. I suggest going to your local Lexus dealership and sitting in a GS350 (which should be readily available). It's the same chassis & interior dimensions as a the GS450h.
I would say it's closer to LS in terms of roominess, although I haven't sat in that vehicle. I'll try to get fellow board member SW15LS (Steve) to comment as he went from a 13' GS to a 15' LS and could give you a better comparison.
Hope this helps,

P.S. - Add me to friends if you get the hybrid. There are not many of us on here.. but we're a slowing growing community!

It should be comfy. I'm 6'3" and 270 with a 2013 GS350 Luxury. I'm maxing out on the headroom and only really compact people/children can sit directly behind me. I find it to be an extremely comfortable car in every way and you'll be amazed by the adjustability of the Luxury's seats. Good luck!

If you sit fine in the rx, you'll be fine the gs. GS luxury seat is the best seat Lexus has made to date. I'm driving an F Sport now. While I like the car for other minor things, I do miss the seat from the luxury model. The head wings and being able to adjust the headrest are very nice imo. Latest ls seat is not as nice as gs's imo. It feels more less like the rx seat.

I'm same build as you, driving 2013 GS5450H with Luxury package. Coming from a 3G GS, I miss the more generous padding. However the range of seat adjustments makes it very comfortable, like the side support. Best feature for me still is the auto seat retraction when engine is switched off. It does help getting in and out of the car much easier.

You'll be fine in the GS in front. The LS is not a lot bigger than the GS in the front, where it starts to get a lot bigger is the backseat. For instance, with the front seat adjusted for you it would be uncomfortable for a rear passenger sitting behind you, or even impossible. I'm 6' 210lbs, and on any trip over an hour or so I would start to hear complaints from back seat passengers. No such situation with the LS.
The GS is a little more intimate feeling with the passenger than the LS, the console isn't quite as wide, and the seats have stronger side bolsters. I might recommend a luxury or F Sport with adjustable side bolsters. Those seats I miss from the GS, they're significantly better than the seats in my new LS.

I'm 6ft 1, 250 and already in my late 40's. I'm fine in the fronts, in the backseat, it's a little tight. I wish there was a little more leg room in back, my sons are in their teens and are getting almost as big as their dad.
The ES rear legroom is perfect but not sporty enough. I'm eyeballing the LS Sport but I'm wondering if the legroom in the shorter LS Sport is good enough or do I need the longer L version (boat)?

Let me chime in as I sat in two of my friends LS 460 L. I'm 5' 10" 240 and with the seat all the way back I was able to cross my legs and my knee still had a few inches of room.
I'd opt for this vehicle of any in the Lexus line up for taller people without hesitation. Also if your worried about being a boat I'm sure somehow one can "F" it. GREAT car.

The legroom in the SWB LS is fine for me to cross my legs without touching the seatback behind the drivers seat adjusted for me. Adjusted that way in the GS I can't sit with my legs crossed, and uncrossed my knees contact the seat in front.
I saw no reason to get the LWB LS. Its huge in the back, but unless you're running a livery service I don't get it, and the LS is already very long (200 in, so like 7 inches longer than the GS), and the L is 5 inches longer than that...makes the car unwieldy to park, etc.

Here I am in a GS with the driver seat perhaps a tad bit more than 3/4 back. As you can see the back is OK. Not great, not bad. There is no way I'll be able to sit back there comfortably with the seat all the way back. So two people over 6' sitting behind each other doable but tight.

On the other hand here I positioned the front drivers seat LS 460 same as the GS and as you can see the room is substantially increased. With legs crossed even I have 4"-6"left. VERY nice.

It fits in the garage better than I thought. I have a pretty small one car garage and it fits fine. The LWB wouldn't fit though.
