I've been getting about the same, 280-300 usually. I've bečn going back and forth between Costco and shell premium. I figured maybe it is the break in period since I only drive hard 15-20% of the time. Bought it with 40 miles and I'm at almost 1800 now and it'll be a month that I've had it on the 6th. This break in period needs to end.... lOl.

DJRabbi - Do you have an AWD or RWD? I think it makes a big difference on your milage. My AWD gets a little under 240 miles per tank.

GS Gas Mileage: shockingly good on the freeway, kinda sucks in town. The End.

I have AWD and I am at half tank with 102 miles to go. I hardly drive the car since my work is .5 miles away so I can't even drive like a douche. I made an appt with Lexus next week and told them to give me the IS350 and I will compare the two

What's your tire pressure at cold? I usually average between 19 and 22MPG but lately I noticed I was down to about 16MPG. Come to find out my tires are around 31 to 33 PSI cold. It's supposed to be around 37PSI cold. It appears the cold temps have robbed me of some air pressure.

Town isn't too bad if you have a 450h

I do a lot of town plus stop and go driving since I live in LA. The only longer commutes are around a 60 minute drive from LA to parents house on the weekend. Best i've gotten was 32 mpg. Worst is probably this week.. idk for some reason it's at 26.5 mpg or so.

Sounds about right given your description. Extremely short trips (less than a mile) , city driving, engine isn't even warmed up yet, and awd is not a good mix

I still don't get why so many people report miles per tankful. Unless you are driving until the car runs out of gas that tells us nothing.

Worst that I've gotten in the hybrid is 26 mpg by the end of the tank (in my case, end of tank = when it shows 0 miles for the range on the dash). That was pretty much all local city driving (maybe 90-95%) & during the peak cold months.

I probably drive more aggressive than most too, so that doesn't help But hey, when you have such a beastly car, why not?

Miles per tankful does not tell us about mpgs but it will tell us about range. Before a trip I pump the car full until the pump auto shuts off. Then I reset the trip A meter to zero. I drive like I normally do and when the empty light flashes to tells me i am about to run out of gas. I try to drive a few more miles after the light comes on to see how much farther I can get out of 17 gallons of gas.

That way I would know if next time my empty fuel light goes off I have XX amount of miles to get to gas station before I get stranded. Very useful info to know when traveling cross country and encounter a scenario where you forgot to fill up and the next indicated gas station is some XX amount of miles away. You will know if you will make it or not.

Gas mileage isn't measured by how often you fill up. When I first got my car I thought it had a 12 gal. gas tank.....the gauge and light came on so early. Average miles per gal. and average miles from fill-up are accurate, and I'm getting 22 mpg consistently.

Dont feel bad your only getting 22mpgs. Other forum members report 16 - 18 mpgs. So you are better than average!

Also note that my highest average mpgs is 26 but on most of the time I usually get 23 mpgs.

But everyone has a different idea as to how low they like to run their tank before getting gas. That's why it does not mean anything in this sort of conversation. I know people who hate to go below 1/4 tank, and other people who will drive quite a few miles after the light comes on..

haha I haven't gotten to the point where it shows 0 on the dash. Got too scared to let it go for longer lol. My mpg dropped to a bit over 25 mpg yesterday.. all time low hmmm.. it's hard not to drive aggressively when the car is basically asking for it haha
