Yes, you can turn the heaters from AUTO (default) to MANUAL. I do this with the Carista app all the time.

YES! But you may need to teach the service department how to do it. See attached PDF.

The dealer should do this for free; if not, go get Carista for a total of about $50.

$6350 including the detail. "List" for Xpel Ultimate seems to be $7150; I went with the low bidder as all of the local installers had great reviews. Very happy with the results.

**** that's expensive! Maybe if it were a $100k+ car, but it's not. I couldn't see spending that kinda dough. I think it's just cheaper to buff out whatever scratches the car..

I tend to agree, but I also see the value in the "joy" of having your paint stay looking pristine for so long. Plus the added benefit of not having to find time to schedule paint work when the scratches begin to appear.

That's the problem, some scratches can't be repaired. The Clear Bra will protect the car from them.
I own a Detailing Company, I can attest first hand the damage a Quality Clear Bra prevents.

Not if your car is an Obsidian Lexus, it isn't. My previous car was a mess of swirls and scratches after six weeks with nothing but hand car washes. It was, quite seriously, heartbreakingly bad if you care about this sort of thing. Xpel Ultimate has a 10 year warranty. Over a lot less than 10 years, I am certain my detailing bill would come to the same money or more to get anything close to the same results. Wash the car, leave it in the sun, it looks like the day you picked it up. Worth it to me.

Thank you for the post and crushing my dreams.

I don't buy new cars anymore and was looking to pickup a 2013 model. I guess I have to wait another couple of years.

Depends what car you're coming from. The '13 GS is a great car, it's expected that they slowly make it better over the years.

The 2013 model isn't a bad car at all. I never buy new cars either because I feel like it's a waste, but you're going to find stuff like this coming up regardless of whatever year or however new the car is. The newer model will most likely always be better or have other things that the previous models didn't. He mentioned the issue with his trunk.. Just make sure you check on that before you buy lol.. my car doesn't have that issue.. the navigation stuff is one of the bigger ones, but I still use it over my plug in GPS.

I love my 2013 lol. It may not have the extra goodies that the 14 and 15 have, but the differences aren't a huge deal.. but the price is lol..

We love our 2013 AWD Luxury every time we get in it, great to drive and very comfortable.
We would like to have the power trunk and mirrors, which amazes me they are missing to begin with, and the there are a couple of other things that would be nice that the newer have, but still a great car.

Don't get me wrong: the 2013 F Sport is still a GREAT car, certainly better than any of the directly comparable Germans at the time. Except for the trunk issue with my particular car, most of the '15 improvements fall into the "nit" category. We treated our '13 lease as a kind of extended test drive leading up to buying the '15; the crap (to us) styling changes on the '16 sealed the deal for us. This is actually the first new car I've bought outright for my own use, ever. THAT's how much we like the GS.

Great write up thanks for sharing. My '13 has double pane windows since it's a luxury model and I think it's fairly quiet
