You are welcome. Let me know if you decide to sell them please.

MrJosef, I will definetly let you know based on what I do when I am ready to purchase. It may be another 6 months until then if I have to do a special order. If I sell my car outright I may get a bit more if I keep the wheels but if I trade probably not. Thanks.

I had an ES350 for 18 months before upgrade to my present GS350 F Sport. Huge difference in the two. I felt the ES interior was cheap, seats broke down, plastic panels got to me after a while......the BIGEST difference is how much I disliked the FWD vs the RWD of the GS.....and the added horse power.

RWD is much more fun than FWD, especially if ur pushing 300 HP. My Camry V6 wheel hop all the time if I punch it. The GS just takes off like nothing and u can drift this thing in the parking lot!

Thanks again everyone for your help. I am impatiently waitng for the '16's to arrive so that I can test dirve them and also take a look at the new fonrt end personally. Hopefully the Sport will be a little differnt than the regular GS as right now I am not sure if I like the new GS bumper and grille based on the picutres that I saw. THe ES was upgraded as well but it looks a lot better in person than in pictures.

I still have that lingering question on whether anyone has ever received a discount on a special order puchase not a lease? The dealers here in Houston that I asked have all said "no discounts". Would an Internet purchase be any different? Do they actually do special orders or only quotes on in stock inventory?

You can certainly negotiate a discount, its just not likely to be as good as what you could get on an in stock vehicle.

Nobody is owed a discount, its negotiated and what you can negotiate depends on how valuable you are to the dealer.

That's the problem. So far they won't even negotiate. They are saying this even though I haven't given them an idea of what I want to order.

What they're telling you is they don't want to do a special order, which is typical for Lexus. They would rather sell you a car on the lot of allocate you a car, or not sell you one at all.

Because they are already having a hard time selling the ones on their lot.

I think they sense that you don't know what you want yet, and it seems like you aren't ready to buy anything yet, so the dealer isn't taking you seriously right now. When you finally settle on a car and make your build, I'm sure they will start negotiating with you. In the meantime, sit tight, wait to see the 2016, and do your research before going back into negotiations.

Another option...I've heard of people buying cars from Lexus dealers in other states (specifically SoCal), and using a small portion of the money saved to transport the car to where they live or drive it back.

Thanks guys. Dchar I will be considering purchasing from anywhere close to Texas when I am ready if I need to. If the local dealers won't negotiate then I'll go elsewhere.
