Default New brake pads installed

Finally got around to putting in my new pads up front to fix my dirty wheel problem!!!

Used autozone c max gold, it's their best pad, and I can say it's a higher quality pad then what was in there...

Almost zero dust, brake performance is just about as good, maybe a little less initial bite...all in all, very happy to once again fix a dirty wheel from brake pads problem again, this time I only waited 4 months!!

DGC1586 was the part I used...

Takes longer to take wheel off then it does to swap out the pads

Update...still no dust, braking performance is actually just as good if not better...total win

Zero......

The reason the oem pads squeal is due to the amazing amount of dust they put out...I had 5k miles on my car and when I pulled my pads out there was tons of built up dust and rust from the pads...

The ceramics will eliminate it

So, the question that begs an answer is: Why does Lexus use the pads they do instead of pads like the Duralast Gold Cmax? They may have less brake dust, but...

Do they take a while to warm up to perform as expected (e.g. an emergency braking situation)?
Do they stop as quickly, or better than the OE pads?
Are they prone to fade after repeated hard stops?
Do they eat up those expensive rotors?

If an aftermarket part is said to be better it always makes me wonder what the downside is, which usually explains why the manufacturer didn't use it.

I just put the Autozone part number in the search and it came back as, DOES NOT FIT my Lexus GS350 F Sport.....

It does....the same pad fits all of the current generation gs350

The downside is a longer lasting brake pad that won't eat up our rotors....

I did the same brake pad swap on a TL type s that had brembos on it....the brembos just like our Lexus brakes just aren't made for day to day driving....they are made to not last so we can give the dealer 600 bucks for a brake job

So the brake pads are the same for the bigger FSport brakes and the regular GS brakes?

Brake pads are like tires. The more bite the quicker they wear. You either go for longer life and less braking power or shorter life and higher braking power.

With that said, most of us use our cars for commuting and don't really need maximum braking power. Normal pads should be just fine.

The rotors are the only part that is larger

For the record, the same brake pads will fit 2013-2015 gs350 regardless of f sport or not, and regardless of awd or not....they all use the same caliper

To clarify further on the differences on the brakes....

F sport rwd has a 14" rotor vrs the 13.1" that the awd and non f sport
F sport rwd uses 4 piston vrs a 2 piston variant of the same caliper the other gs's use

The composition of the pad material may be different between the different set ups, but the size of the pad is the same...if you cross reference on akebono you will see the same exact pad is called for on all gs models...

thanks so much for this man, brake dust caked up on front wheels, looks like i got 2 front brown wheels and 2 black rears lol
grabbing these pads now.

The rears don't dust up like this, do they use different materials there?

I don't need super grabbing power but if some idiot in front of me decided to go from 80 to zero I still wanna be able to stop.
