MPG Help!!
i have a 2015 GS350 Fsport. Had it since 6/13/15, just hit 2,400 miles
I'm averaging 17mpg. 60% city and 40% highway driving. 50/50 on normal mode and sport+ mode. Which I totally think is unacceptable. My previous car was a 2008 GS350 RWD and I average 21mpg
2008 GS smaller gas tank and I get 320 cruising range each time I filled up the tank.
2015 GS bigger gas tank and I get 277 cruising range each time I filled up the tank.
1. How many mile it takes the motor the break in? Maybe MPG will improve after motor is broken in.
2. What is your average MPG?
3. What is your cruising range after gas tank is filled up?
4. Should I bring my concern to the dealership??
Your help and response is greatly appreciated.

I also own a 2015 GS F-Sport that I purchased on 7/13/15 and I'm getting 258 cruising range each time I fill up the tank. I live in NYC where there's lots of stop and go traffic. When I first purchased the car, I was averaging 13 mpg, then I saw some improvements to 15 mpg after a mixture of city/highway driving. I now have about 1,200 miles on the car.

couple of thoughts to improve mpg
light throttle inputs in city off line,
cruise control at highway speeds or when have light traffic in city will help dramatically
eliminating the sport plus and put it back to normal to bring rpm's to efficient mode
good quality gas premium vs regular unleaded
this is the reason lexus is launching the gs200t, the v6 is a great motor, durable, fast , sounds good but older technology and the turbo four will bring them to the 20th century

2015 RWD fsport, averaging 24....usually 360-380 ish miles per tank...I have actually hit 400...I did however drive most of that tank on Eco mode, I would say I am 60/40 hwy/cty

Me 40% city and 60% highway and I only get 16-18 MPG tops!!! That's driving at turtle pace and I already have 12K miles.. So why the bad MPG?! Because my 60% highway is mostly traffic.. I so wish I have the GS 450h right now.. Traffic won't be a problem in that hybrid. My CT shuts down in traffic while the Yukon and Escalade next to me are drinking gas like there is no tomorrow.

16-18MPG is about what I get. 60% city and 40% highway. I'm either stuck in traffic or I'm going 80+ if there is no traffic ... I have about 22K+ miles now

I've had my car for just over a month and it just past 22k miles. When I picked it up the previous owner use to average 21mpg. I've been able to get 24.3 mpg andi drive 50/50 but it's almost always in Eco or normal mode.

1. With 2,400 miles, your engine should be broken in already. It also depends if you drive in a lot of stop and go traffic. I see you're in 626. BTW, I used to live in Baldwin Park, and commuting from there to LA on the freeway will be mostly stop and go traffic on weekdays. Probably why the low MPG.
2. My avg MPG is 22.8MPG. About what I was getting in my 2007 BMW 328i. I drive about 80% frway and 20% city here in San Diego.
3. My cruising range after my last fill up: About 325miles. I filled up when the gas meter was on 1/4 tank. I filled up the tank with a bit more than 12 Gallons. The Gas tanks is about 17.5 Gals full. So I figure I had another 4.5 Gallons in the tank and could have driven another 100 miles before filling up. FYI, I drive have the time on Sport+ Mode, user Premium Shell or Chevron, and keep my tires inflated to about 36psi.
4. Should you bring your car to the dealership ? It's clearly up to you. If you're driving in a lot of stop and go traffic with the A/C blasting for long distances then could be one reason.

This subject has been beat to death. But I can tell you that a lot of people must not have very good driving habits. My wife gets 21 in a fairly heavy dose of city with some open road driving. She got 18-19 when she drove in pure city driving. I got 26 over a week period driving it every day from the Houston suburbs to near downtown which included a number of traffic lights and some slow stop and go on the freeways.
BTW, the mileage is virtually identical to the 2010 GS that was my daily driver. I seldom got below 26 in that car.
BTW, I drive in sport mode virtually all the time. And if you think I drive like a little old lady going to church, look at my avatar picture.
