Default DIY Front brake pads F Sport

I know there is a good write up already done on the IS350, but thought I might as well snap some pics when I do mine.

WHAT YOU NEED
-Brake pads
-C clamp
-Brake cleaner
-Pliers

Install time 45-60mins

Take wheel off

Ta-Dah!

Remove clip, then remove pin. Helps if you push down on the metal plate

Take c clamp to push together front and rear pads

Pads removed. Take this time to clean shims, clip and pin

Installed, reverse process and you did it

Super easy, I don't even change my own oil and felt this was a sinch. Saves you money, take for instance local Lexus dealer wanted close to 400.

I used Akebono ACT1118, highly recommend them. Better than Oem, no noise.

Nice DIY. Did you reuse the pad shims? And did you put anti squeal on the pads ?

Very nice....I plan on swapping my pads out with some ceramics for less dust as soon as I get around to it....

Does anyone know if the pads are the same for the 2015 f sport as they are for the 2014 or did they change them...I was trying to look them up on autozone but they didn't list any for 2015

Do u have to resurface the rotors and bleed the brake fluid?

U don't need to change the brake fluid right?

I used the shims that came with the pads, no anti squeal. No I didn't resurface rotors as I will replace them soon. Did not bleed brakes, nor did I change fluid. Just had it flushed

Heck I need a diy on rear brakes.

The 2013-2015 front FSport brake rotors and pads should be the same. Maybe even the 2016 will use the same parts too. I don't see why would they change it, these are basically the exact same cars.

Maybe u can call the dealer and ask?

Ordered the same. I couldn't find the rear version.

Also, to anyone, if you replace the rotor, please post pic and price. Thanks.

The rotor is as easy as taking it off and putting new one on...

Mattah, how are you liking the Akebono ACT1118 pads?

Have any of you replaced the front rotors yet? If so which ones did you go with?

I just got my front brakes replace on my GS350 F Sport. I notice that my rotors has a lip at the end and after the shop resurface my rotors the lip was gone. I didn't want to spent an extra $600 for the pair of front rotors and I wanted my rotors to be resurface. Is this normal to have a lip or not?

On worn brake rotors you will often see a lip on the outer edge of the rotor that is created because the brake pad does not contact the entire rotor surface, so as the rotor wears down this leaves an outer lip on the rotor. Your rotors were resurfaced on a lathe to remove some of the rotor's surface in order to smooth the entire rotor surface, which in the process removed the lip on the outer edge.
