imo, the car needs a complete redesign like what they did with the IS. No offense meant, it's just my perspective, but it looks like they're trying to optimize a family sedan i.e. outlandish grill on a car with more staid lines. I don't know how Audi did it but I look at any Audi, I think sports sedan 1st, family hauler next. With the GS it's the opposite. Maybe it's the Audi's wide stance and low to the ground look?

Now that makes perfect sense!

it screams, Avalon, Camry and Corrolla...i could be wrong. then again it may grow on a few people. remember when the spindle grill was released, a lot of people did not like it, most warmed up to it.

2013 to 15s' design is just fine. they should have left as is. now if they want the car to look like the LF-GH... they should just put the LF-GH into production. i know i would buy one.

Definitely not a fan of the headlights. I didn't like them when they redesigned the IS and I don't like them here. It just looks strange to me.

I think the Turbo should have some potential. ECU reflash should give it some more power.

This is a MMC. Why would they redesign after only 3 years. The IS got a redesign because it lasted from MY2006-2013. Don't expect a 5th generation GS for at least another 3 years.

Default some more thought today

as i put some more thought to this car, i think myself and others need to give it more of a chance.. i think the mouth is more exaggerated in the photos with atomic silver color. if you look at the lights blending with the front , the better flow of the rear quarter, the 4 cyl fuel economy, lower price, it will probably be another success for the brand and an important step to up there commitment to newer powertrains that have the performance/efficiency balance.
this car will sell well and it will also handle better than the 6 with less weight on the nose.
i spend some time stopping in at lexus today and i think the gs front seat is better than the bmw seat. the bmw seat is good but the gs seat is really that good.

When the Gen 4 came out I knew exactly that was my dream car, especially the FSport version and now I'm driving one. I don't have the same feeling about the Gen 4.5. Now the more I look at it the more I like my Gen 4 better.

3 more HP is a joke. I can slap one more FSport badge on the roof and say it adds 5 HP and nobody will know.

Yeah I have no idea why they bothered to tune this old engine at all. Maybe they reached in a parts bin from the RC or IS and found a new valve or something. Unless it impacts fuel consumption it seems pointless.

At least the GS F is on the horizon and pictures are leaking out. We'll see how popular the GS200 is. If I were a betting man, I'd bet it's gonna sell really low volume. The GS isn't the IS where the price is a big concern. The IS250 probably outsells the IS350 5 to 1 but the GS was never intended to be a volume seller to begin with. I guess they're doing this for global markets where gas still costs 2 arms and a leg, but in that case it makes me wonder why they didn't go 2l diesel instead. The GS200 just seems like a really confused option to me.

Thanks for sharing. I know it's an MMC -- I still maintain the car needs a complete redesign.

To further derail the topic, if anything needs a total refresh it's the LS. Isn't that model going on 7 years? They're almost as late as Infiniti is with their redone Q60 coupe (because they were waiting on a new chassis for the 370z to borrow from).

The 528i, XF 2.0T, A6 2.0 TSFI and CTS 2.0T must all be confused too

In my opinion, there are some designs that are timeless, age well, and can continue to evolve. The 2G Acura is a great design that Acura failed to evolve. The 3G was a disaster. The 4G GS looked great to me when it came out but for some reason, to me, it now feels really old. It feels like I've been seeing it everywhere for a long time and that might be because so many other manufacturers seem to using the same template. Just my .02. I'm sure the MMC will grow on people and it'll look better in person. But, ino, Jag is doing great design work, Alfa is coming, BMW always looks good, so does Audi. I'm not sure why the GS doesn't stir my soul.

No kidding. For some reasons the Japanese cars seem to get criticized unequally to me. GS250 has been in production so Lexus sure knows what they are doing with this new option.

Not the best esps comes out after Camry but decent IMO.

Those are all for entry level people who wants the upscale cars without the upscale payments. People buys BMW 320i's cause all they want is that badge, even though my Prius probably has more options and still priced much lower. Yes, it's 320 not even 328 and people still buy them. Some are even converting a 328 into a fake M3 with all the badges and fake exhaust.

Same with the GS but the GS200 sales may hurt the ES sales at some point, especially if the price is so close. I mean who wouldn't want to be seen in a GS? Even though u don't have the 350 juice it's still a gotdamn GS!
