Default Bluetooth music streaming

Hey guys/gals,

2015 GS 350 Fsport with ML
iPhone 6 lastest 8.4 ios at&t network

I was wondering if anyone has experienced or experiencing low volume on their car while streaming music thru Bluetooth via your smart phone. I usually like to listen to my music at a moderate loud setting, volume cranked up between 35-40 depending on the type of music. Apparently even at volume set between 35-40 it still sound very low, but suddenly volume goes up when I received a txt message or email on my phone. Hope you guys understand what i'm talking about. I've tried messing with all the settings on the car and my phone. Even restore default settings in my car and phone. Problem still there. Anyone has a solution or know what's the problem.

I have the exact same car, phone and provider as you.
My car also does what you are experiencing. If I clear the windows including my Music window and start it everything works as it should.

In for a better answer to this though....

I had the same issue too, but found out from the Lexus dealer how to fix it...

It has to do with your phone. Make sure your phone volume for Media (in my case for an android) volume is set up at least 3/4 of the way as the default volume and fine tune it from there. Not sure what they call it on the iPhone, but the default volume needs to be set right on the phone.

Play around with it a little and you'll find it starts at a good volume every time once you get it set.

Hope this helps

Did you check your volume control on the phone? Unlike the iPod connection BT streaming volume can be controlled by your iPhone's volume controls. I've used d iPhone 6 on 15 ML and now on non ML. Never had the problem you described.

Two ways to adjust the volume on your iphone:

Connect to the car's bluetooth audio. Make sure the phone has selected to send audio to bluetooth. Then adjust the volume all the way up on your phone.

The easier way is while playing a song (from your phone to your car), turn the phone screen off, then push and hold the volume up button.

I have never experienced this problem using my iPhone 5 - I get few texts but many e-mails while I am driving. One of the many joys of this car is listening to Martini in the Morning uninterrupted while driving along.

Try disconnnecting bluetooth then reconnecting, see what happens. Close and restart the music app.

Okay, you probably already knew this, but each mode has its own sound setting. If your BT volume is lower than, say, your FM or SAT, then you may have to adjust the sound settings in BT. Of course this may not apply to the ML system. Hope this is helpful.

Ur phone music volume must be maxed out first, for both iPhone and Android, then play with the head unit volume. Samsung phones, however, are a hassle cause Samsung's max volume is not actually maximum, it is limited to 90% and u have to acknowledge it first to go all the way to 100% and it'll revert back to 90% when u reboot it. iPhones have no problem going to 100% and stays there all the time.

Got a 6 Plus although shouldn't make any difference also software is 8.4.

Never had any volume problems - maybe the music you downloaded is low ?
If not there may be something wrong. I never had any problems first time connecting the bluetooth never touched any settings either. So there might be an issue with your stereo system I'm assuming.

I am guessing it has something to do with the latest iOS update
