HUD in Non HUD GS
YES IT CAN BE DONE!
I successfully (by myself) transferred my Heads-Up-Display from my old GS F-Sport to my new GS F-Sport (both are 2013's). Total time spent was about 7 hours.
The HUD Switch is already prewired as well as the connector for the HUD box behind the Navigation screen and speedometer, respectively.
I completely swapped both dash's between each car.
No codes were thrown in either car. It is completely plug-and-play!
The ONLY downside is my new GS does not have the HUD specific windshield therefore you can see a bit of a hologram effect near the top of the HUD projection and overall it is a barely less clear.

That's a good news to me... I have a dashboard with HUD sitting in my garage and was wondering if I can swap them...
Maybe there is some kind of clear film needs to be applied to the windshield to get good HUD quality
This is a huge step by step process... I removed / installed couple of them already, to record notes + pictures, it might take all 14hrs to complete.

It's a bit too late for me to do a DIY guide...
I should have just taken more pictures!
Again, the HUD was swapped from a 13 GS (built 2/12) to a 13 GS (built 3/13).
As far as compatibility between other model years I would have to do a write-up to show y'all how to verify compatibility. There will be an unattached connector off the harness that provides power to the Navigation screen and then another connector off the lighting and dimming switch. If you have those two connectors you should be golden!

Wow, that is cool. I would love a HUD and have wondered myself if the swap/installation was possible. But I don't have the stomach to tear apart my dash to the point that it looks like your picture haha.

wow awesome man. Ive replaced the entire interior of my IS....except the dash :/ that is a super daunting task, refused to touch it man, just painted it hehe.
I remember way back with my first car ( a Mitsubishi Galant) drove like that without a dash for a week while it was getting wrapped. The looks I got at the red lights lol
