Car wash blues
My 2014 GS just passed its first year anniversary. The first six months of ownership presented no problems going through the local touch free car wash. I started having problems with the front passenger window leaking during the high pressure spray portion of the wash. I thought the extra cold winter may have dried out the seals a little and the dealer applied some treatment to them to see if it helped but to no avail. The second attempt at remedy was the replacement of the window seal which resulted in a much worse leak. There is no discernible wind noise at highway speed. The dealer now says this is not a normal driving condition and not to use that car wash.

"Touchless" car washes don't work anyway. Stop going there.
Hand wash only.

I agree hand washing is best but when time and winter interfere the touch-less gets the worst off without beating the paint. I have used this wash with other cars with no problems. Guess I'll have to try another spot and see how it works. Thanks for your insights.

Not that I'm encouraging you to lie (well, actually I am), but you could always go back after a heavy rainy day and tell them it's still leaking (if it's still leaking with the carwash). I go to touchless carwashes (no judging pls -- I'd rather not spend my morning cleaning my car, and it's a lease after all) all the time and there's never any trace of water getting inside. That's BS for them to tell you that it's the carwash's fault when it never did that before. Also, the carwash I go to, only really does the hardest pressure on the rocker panels, not up on the windows (yours may or may not be different). Goodluck!

I can't speak to it being touch free though

Each time I detail the GS, I find some small detail. A few of these are with the window seals, I've noticed little design features (purposely there) that I can only assume are for noise reduction or water shedding. The seals are not perfectly straight, but I can see them easily getting bent out of shape. My suggestion is to check the seals to make sure the window seats in the proper channel and does not catch one of these design features.
Fyi, I find the same with the door seals. One of them I keep noticing and thought it was a defect and almost shaved it off, I am glad I saved myself from my own stupidity.
