My wife has the 2013 GS-350. Tire size is 235/45-18. She currently has the Michelin Primacy MXM4. She is needing tires soon and I'm looking for recommendations. Those tires are $233 each on tirerack which seems awfully expensive, especially since the reviews for them don't seem to be all that great. I pulled up the 2013 GS 350 on tiretrack and set the size accordingly and am using that for a starting point. From there I start reading the reviews, but I'm curious for any recommendations here as well. We are in New England and can have some harsh winters so it really needs to be a good all season tire. I'm all for saving money but not looking to be cheap at my wife's safety, either.

Currently looking at Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2.

I just got the Primacy MXM4s and I love them in comparison to the original Dunlops I replaced. So much quieter, handling seems about the same for my driving habits. I am hoping their winter performance is satisfactory. That seems to be the main complaint on tire rack.

Wish I could help you more seeing as you are also coming from MXM4s. FWIW I like them a lot coming from the Dunlops, mainly for the huge reduction in noise. There are a lot of other threads on here that can probably help you with your decision.

If you are truly worried about winters, you would get a set of dedicated winter tires. I run the primacy mxm4's spring-fall, and blizzak ws80's in the winter. I really like the primacy mxm4 (there are a few different types of mxm4 which have differing reviews). I would suggest getting some used 3rd gen GS 17" rims and getting 225/50/17 winters for them. The worst winter tires will give her more traction than the best all seasons.

Thanks, guys. I don't think dedicated winter tires are needed on an AWD vehicle. She certainly had no issues last year. I just think the Michelin's wore down too quickly; not to mention they are expensive.

PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 seems to be what I'm leaning towards at the moment.

I have come to my own conclusion... It's safe to bet on Michellin when it comes to tires. I would stick with Michellins if you didn't have any problem with them. You may end up with a "what if". Anyway, here are more tire feedback from other members. Best wishes.

Pirelli wear terribly from when I had them on my Mercedes. Didn't get more than 15k out of either set.

When Michelins stung me in the pocketbook, I went with Falkens if I had to go the budget minded route.

Those are the tires I would put on the car. Make sure you're looking at the "Plus" model. In fact, I plan to put a set of them on my LS460 in the next couple weeks.

When I had my GS I replaced the OEM Michelins with a set of Toyo Versado Noir. They don't sell the on Tire Rack, but here they are on TreadDepot:

My local tire dealer was out of the P7 Plus and urged me to try these. I was very happy with them in the time I had them. Very reasonably priced too.

I would never consider the Hankooks.

All "Pirellis" don't wear the same just like all "Michelins" don't wear the same. The Cinturato P7 Plus he is looking at have excellent reviews and an excellent treadwear warranty.

Nitto Motivo's. Had 2 sets on my e90. Pretty good price and performance for an All Season tire.

If you don't get much snow, i agree. If you get lots of snow/ice, you are very wrong. They make a huge difference. However i looked up New England Precipitation, and it's very light. You should be able to get away with the DWS's year round http://www.usclimatedata.com/climate...tates/usnd0256

If you routinely see temps below 35 degrees, you'd be well served with winter tires. Its not just about precipitation.
