Default Has anyone done an after market sub and amp install??

Hey Everyone,

This morning I attempted to install a JL Audio sub and amp in my 2015 GS. I thought it would be the same as I did multiple times before on different cars. But in the GS the rear sub wires are not under in the upper trunk liner as in my other cars. I believe I would have to remove the rear deck to get to the wires...

I have been searching CL and can't seem to find anything specific to the 4G GS. I am still fairly new to the forum, so is there something I'm missing or has anyone done this yet that can share some insight?

Thanks

I believe the wires are on the right side of the trunk in the little compartment.

The wiring and stock amp are in the compartment under the carpet on the right side in the trunk. Very easily accessible.

hi,

I added a 12" Sub w/ 1000watts Hifonics amp to my GS. Sound great. All you need is tap into the sub wiring located right corner of the trunk as for sub out.

have fun....

I would have done the same thing... Even Best Buy said they charge $125 with the LOC install. And if they needed to mount the speaker in the box it would be another $25. But that part is easy enough...

I had best buy install mine as I have done with every car I had for the past 15 years.. only $100 and never had an issue with any of their installs .. not sure if I would go to a tinted window place to have a sub and amp installed

@DaPope10, I am trying to add a sub in my car also. Appreciate it if you could post a DYI with steps and pics. Thanks a ton!
