Hello,

This is my first post to the forum so sorry if its in the wrong area. I'm thinking about using Plasti dip to black out all the chrome on my f sport gs 350 awd.

Any thoughts?

Most members here who have blacked out their chrome have used vinyl instead. That is probably a better option.

I second this ^. Use a nice vinyl 3m or avery, or have it professionally painted. Were you thinking satin black or gloss black?

I Plasti-Dipped my trim on my Starfire Pearl, and I'm loving the look! I think I will end up doing vinyl down the road, as the tackiness of the PD grabs on to lint and dust. I also have a spot lifting, and it will take several hours to mask and re-spray. If you want to see how it looks, go Plasti Dip. If you want it to look its best, vinyl....

BTW, other trim (upper grill spindle trim, badges, and trunk trim) looks great in PD!

I don't want to go as far as painting since I'm leasing. I'm thinking gloss black. I'll talk a look at vinyl 3m. Heard Plasti-dipp was real simple, and easy to remove. So I figured id start there.

Plasti-dip is a great route for doing small things like blacking out window trim, but I found it very tiring to mask out both side of the car windows and waiting for the dip to dry then reshoot and repeat.

So taking it to a vinyl wrapper was a lot easier for me, looks better, but is a little more expensive.

Welcome!

+1 for vinyl wrap. Have it on my car and its held up great. Plast dip is also a solid option, though, will not be as sturdy.

I agree with other about vinyl wrapping your trim. I did it on my G37S and loved it. Just make sure whatever ship you do it at can match or come close to the glossiness of your B pilar so it looks almost like a factory option. I'm debating on doing this as well.
