A Little Unhappy with F Sport AWD
I traded in my 2008 RWD GS350 for a 2015 F Sport AWD GS350 at the end of February. I miss my 2008. The 2008 was sleeker due to the lowered height/RWD setup, it seemed faster, the side mirrors were more integral to the car, and it was a lot quieter and smoother ride. I have 4,000 miles on the new one and I am a little unhappy with it. I love the from as it looks like a beast (it's Obsidian). Another issue I have is for some reason when in sport mode when I let off the gas (I know, why would I do that) it stays in the higher rpm like I still have the pedal down. It whines a bit and is somewhat annoying. The engine seems louder from within the cabin. Anyone else have these issues or disappointments with their vehicles. I assume the stance and quickness has to do with the AWD. I wish I would have went with RWD but being in WV it seems somewhat necessary.

The revs you are talking about is because you are in sport mode. When letting off the gas it maintains a lower gear for faster re-acceleration. It is also a bit louder because of the intake resonator that give it more intake sound above 3500 RPMs. In normal or ECO mode, it would upshift to lower RPMs and save fuel (and be much quieter).
I personally love the growl if give and the snappy performance I get in Sport mode (I almost always drive in Sport+)

Can't really compare a 2008 to a 2015. I had similar and have now an AWD 2015 F Sport. 2008 was a smaller car and felt nimbler with the 2015 being a bit of a size beast at times. But the 2015 is superior in luxury and comfort. Sport mode is fun but normal mode is a great comfort ride. Lexus did a far better job on the 2015s than even the previous two model years for standard equipment.

Sounds like the OP should have bought an ES.

U can get the K&N or FSport intake pipe, that will get rid of the sound generator and quiet down the engine noise.

What surprised me about the Sport and Sport+ in my RWD '14 F Sport is that it doesn't stay in high rpms when I let off the gas or when I'm driving casually, it doesn't have an issue up shifting. Usually sport modes in other cars just keep the car high in rpms.. Strange that op's car isn't up shifting.
Sometimes my car has a whine. Some days worse than others. But no correlation to being cold vs warmed up. Weird...

The luxury package car rides better though by virtue of the suspension tuning and smaller wheels on the 13-14
