Have you looked at the Caddy interior?? I didn't even test drive one because the interior looked/felt so cheap. LOTS of hard shiny plastic does not belong in a high-end luxury/sports sedan.
The American manufacturers are getting better, but still miles behhind reliability of Lexus....
I looked hard at Caddy; I have access to the GM family discount so it would have be nuts not to look. They are trying hard, but are still years behind Lexus in most respects. You just don't get a finished product vibe from Caddy, not yet.
Perhaps the answer to my question is that there aren't any? Would Caddy be the closest? How are the Buick models?
Cadillac would be the closest. The new CTS and ATS and CT6 aren't too bad...Cadillac is slowly trying to improve their cars to compete with luxury cars better. Still wouldn't really consider one though...
Buick isn't even in the same league. Buick is even below Cadillac in the luxury lineup. It is more of a sub-luxury brand like Volvo and Acura.
American companies have improved the quality of their interior, but it is still far behind compared to the newer Lexus models. The leather of the Lexus is very soft and welcoming.
At least one claimed/anticipated one such animal.
IMO once you get used to the GS esp. the luxury model, it's hard to find a replacement in that price range. Caddies are nice but abit too busy for me.
Sorry, but there's nothing luxurious about the Tesla Model S interior besides the giant screen. The fit and finish is meh. Nothing special about the interior design. Just doesn't look expensive.
