I looked over the headunit and in the center console, however I can't locate the microSD slot for the navigation maps. I looked through owner's manuals with no luck.

Not sure, but when I was looking around in the trunk, on the right side if you pull out the tool tray there was a silver box that appears as though it could be the hard drive for the nav...maybe it's there

There's a little flap where the Mark Levinson logo is in the center console. Just pull it up and you'll find it there.

I thought our nav is HD based? So that means we can just swap the SD card for a new map?

There is no microSd card slot on the GS. Not sure about the 15 GS with ML never heard that before. You might need to post a pic of that to show other your own.

It actually looks like this on my 2015 ML but the flap flips upward.

But there is on the 2015 due to the revised system. I discovered it a few days after returning my 2013 and picking up my 2015 back in November. I thought the ML logo area looked different, and was surprised when I found the microSD slot. The menus changed and the addition of HD traffic probably made them switch to microSD for navigation maps. It works just as well as the 2013 navigation. Maybe they are saving that hard drive space for people to pause live radio and record for several minutes while the car is off (new feature for 2015).

Yeah only the 2015d with the new nav system have the flap and the SD card slot. It's in the same spot on my LS. I was wondering where it was on the 15 GS.

MUCH easier to upgrade maps now. Hopefully you won't need the dealer.

Yep just like my '14 Highlander...there is someone selling cheap map updates on ebay just wondering where it was on the GS so I can do so some file compares
