Buy CPO GS 350 F-Sport or Lease 2015 GS 350 F-Sport ?
Hi CL members,
I've been a long time lurker as I've always loved Lexus. My first car was a Toyota Avalon and that thing treated me great, my little brother is still driving it since I handed down to him(250k miles).
Long story short, I've decided my next car will be a Lexus GS 350 F-Sport. My Honda Accord got flooded 2 weeks ago and I'm waiting on the insurance check to pull the trigger.
I'm currently in sales and I "think" I'm a decent negotiator. My annual income is $70k - $90k (w/ Bonuses)
I'm currently paying $1200 mortgage, no kids, got a gf that doesn't cost as much as my mortgage (blessed)
So I'm looking at this particular GS here. I've test driven the 2015 GS F sport and LOVED it.

Do you think I should get this one down to $37k OTD ? I'm planning to put $5k down.
Or Should I lease the New one and buy it out at the end of the lease after 3 years.
Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan,
In my totally non-biased car salesman opinion, Leasing is always the best way to go. It sounds like you're a young man. One thing to think of is what your situation will be in a few years. Another thing to think about is what if 3 years from now a new GS comes out and you love it? If you buy a used one now, you're going to kind of be stuck because when a new body style comes out it will drop your trade value. SO, if I were in your shoes.... I would be leasing.
If you have any questions on any of this car sales nonsense talk, just let me know!
Best of luck,
Ray

Lease.. and keep the 5K in your pocket, never put money down on a lease, if the car is stolen or totaled the money is gone
only catch I believe in TX you pay tax on the entire car value, not just the amount spread over the term of the lease

Also, last month there was a $2300 lease bonus cash..... That's free money, so even if you lease it and then buy it out you will come out ahead. And new incentives come out tomorrow (6/2) so you may even get more than that! Trust me, I'm a car salesman! Lol

Also, 2013 GS 350 FOR $42,900 especially with 43k miles is way to much!
You can do better honestly. $30-35k OTD. My opinion.
My 2010 was 38k OTD with 20k miles - this was in 2012 so was a 2 year old car.
You can do better. Good luck. I also recommend leasing 2015.

I agree that 2013 that OP posted is way overpriced.
How negotiable the price is will depend on that dealer and nothing else. I recently bought one of these and some dealers that were asking an outrageous amount for a car were sometimes not interested at all in significantly dropping the price to make a sale. I think some of the dealers out there have no interest in selling cars and would prefer to open a Lexus museum instead lol.

Pole Position
Correct. 2013s with little over 20k miles are going for about $39-41k.

It all depends on whether you're goi to to keep the car or not. If you think yo'll keep it, you should buy one and a used one is going to be a better value. If you don't see yourself keeping it longer than 5 years, lease a new one.

First of all, thank you so much for your inputs guys. I'll definitely value these great information and opinions
I'm planning to keep the car for a long time. Since it's a lexus so they have great reputation on reliability.
I'm leaning towards the CPO one IF I can get it down to $35k OTD.
If not I'm going with leasing a new one. $0 down, trying to get somewhere $450-$500. I'm reading the Lease GS350 thread now to see what is everyone paying for it.
