I have 2013 gs with 70,000km had it since new. I tracked it hard for a year and a half no issue don't burn no oil nothing car is reliable as hell. Even for a first year model I had zero issues I believe lexus car can out live a person. My dad 98 lexus had 403,000km before we sold it to my uncle he rode it for another 20+k and sold it and it was still running after that.

Changing the cars diff every 25k miles? Is this part of lexus receomended maintenence? Or is this something i need or should do regaurdless of manufactuer recromended schedule? Is the "diff" mean differential? Is this only for RWD models?

No, he WAY over maintains his car. Changing the oil with synthetic every 3k miles is obsessive maintenance and isn't at all neccisary.

Just follow the manufacturer's schedule and you will be fine. Diff stands for differential.

Go for it!

I love the car. I loved the GS too, but the LS is really something special.

Somebody's got too much money and time on their hands to be changing oil every 3K miles.

Otherwise I have no complaints. The car has generally enough room, engages me enough in my crowded urban setting and coddles me in my crowded urban setting.

Only other point, a customer complained to me the car is just a big Toyota and doesn't have the quality of European brands and singled Volvo out for high European quality. So there you have it
Here in Singapore, if you compare the interior of the GS to the Volvo, lexus is miles ahead.

My 2007 Gs 350 had a dying engine at 136k and 11 years. Lexus killed the engine during a repair did a head gasket repair that fell apart just after their goodwill warranty

Lol I just realized I had originally started this thread. Eventually in Aug 2017 I bought a GS 350 CPO with 11,500 miles on it. Now the car has about 53K or so on it, although my rate of mileage accumulation has slowed because I don't DD the car anymore. I have not had any real problems with the car other than ones that I caused (like damaging rims with potholes etc. ).

Car is still pretty stellar.

PS: I do 10K oil changes with mobil-1 and the car doesn't seem to mind.

Default I drive a lot.

I’m about to cross 105k. Car is 2013 purchased certified with 30k. I recently had radio replaced under warranty for a ticking sound it would make, after it was turned off, but while still driving. Biggest disappointment is the paint on the front bumper. Too many chips too count. Should have purchased the protective film. Second disappointment are the second set of tires. It came with the Dunlop’s but they were so poorly rated on tire rack that I switched. I managed to get 50k miles out of those tires. Purchased the new Bridgestone RE980AS. Supposed to be a 55k mile tire. Most recent service visit, dealer says I need new tires, and it’s only 20k miles. Yikes. The Bridgestone encourage sport mode and I think that’s the problem. All in all a great car so far. Since I drive so much I’m doing service every 10k and not 5k.

What exactly do you mean by "drive hard"?

What is an example of "drive hard"

Just curious

Thanks
