You should have the wheel lock code in your owners packet. You can order another key from McGard.

I ordered a spare key and keep it in my console just so I don't have to go into the trunk to get the key when tires are rotated or replaced.

The point of wheel locks is to prevent wheel theft but what you are doing defeats this purpose. A theif simply opens your center console and he will get 4 new wheels.

I hide mine somewhere inside the car and only I know where it is. and it's not in the spare tire / jack compartment.

If someone wants to break-in my car it's plenty easy enough...and they will get a $1,000+ camera, a nice loaded handgun, and from the trunk $1,000+ worth of golf equipment. And, if they really want my wheels and tires a wheel lock master key set is easily obtainable that will fit all locks. The only reason my wheels even have wheel locks is because they came with them and it only makes it a tiny bit harder to steal...and the only reason why I have a spare wheel lock key in the console is so I don't have to remove all the stuff in my trunk when I have the tires rotated.

PS - I park my cars in a 3 car garage and about the only time they are vulnerable to break-in is when I'm playing golf, shopping, dinner, movie, etc.

If you have a key number, you can contact McGard and order a replacement key.

another way to do is to take your car to tire places or lexus dealerships and have them unlock with their master keys and replace with the new set of locks (this may be a cheaper way). you can buy them less than $30 at autoparts store.

FYI wheel locks are useless. Any amatuer wheel theif can get around locks in a few seconds. Best thing to do is park in a spot to make them want to skip your car.

It's actually easier and faster to take the whole car rather than removing the wheels.

If they really want ur car they'll take it. But it's always good to slow them down, enough to the point that they won't bother wasting their time on stealing ur car.

I carry a Springfield XDS 45acp in my iwb at 4oclock too but not every state allows you to shoot a thief. Unless the thief will cause you bodily harm and you can prove it.

I think you misunderstood my reply... bc said if someone broke in to his car they would find a nice camera, gun and golf clubs... I was telling him thats why I keep my edc on me instead of in the car.
