Default 2012 IS250 AWD to 2013 GS350 F-Sport?

Bought the IS approx 6 months ago, indeed it's a slow reliable car but i'm bored of it. I'm eyeing on a GS350 F-sport, found one i like with 14k miles asking for $44k from Lexus dealer. debating if i should make the switch, any members here switched from IS to GS?

Thanks!

I just checked my car's value on KBB and it's only $43K for a 2014 FSport with ML with 6K miles. Damn this car depreciates fast.

I made a mistake, the GS350 F-Sport has 14k miles not 34K miles.

I believe this car was brand new approx $60K off the lot?

The first year is always the biggest depreciation year, and then the second year's depreciation is much, much less than what the first year was...and the third year is only somewhat less than the second year. That is why it is recommended and a smart decision to buy a one or two year old low mileage near-mint car and save $15k and let the original lessee or owner take the big depreciation hit.

Cost of GS 350 ownership - Depreciation

Mine is a 2013, 23,000 miles, and it's trade in value is 37,000. I don't even want to talk about how much I paid for it.

Well, 2013 Gs350 is actually the 2nd year of fourth generation, i would think they would deprecate slower, guess i'm wrong.

Is that what a dealer offered you or just a KBB/Nada value?

To OP: I think it depends on your financial situation. Are you willing to lose money on the IS? If you could sell or trade the IS without losing too much (my limit is probably $1-2k), I would make the switch. I think $44k for an F-sport with 14k miles is fair if it's a 2014. If it's a 2013, I think you should be able to get it for $41-42k.

Thanks for the message, i paid $26k 6 months ago for the IS, as for KBB trade is $22k-ish, if they're willing to pay $23-$24 for my car that would be good since i put approx 4,000 miles on it.
As for the GS, at most I'm willing to pay $42k, but now with all above comments, making me wait few more months for 2014 model.

That's the KBB value. My car is literally in mint condition. Tires are still practically brand new and everything.
