H16 Fog Bulb??
New to the forum, been snooping around for a few months now, great stuff. Anyways i decided to pull the trigger on the fog light kit for my 13' GS Fsport. Bought the bezel from nigel but decided to save some coin and got the fog lights and harness from ebay. It was a direct replacement for the oem part numbers i found on the forums. Came in quick and looked good, until i turned it around and noticed it has an H16 (19w) bulb not an H11 (55w) like everyone else seems to have. So my question is if i throw an H11 in, which I'm told will plug right in, would it burn up the harness? Seems like a pretty solid harness with a 15 amp fuse and a 40 amp relay for the switch. I wanted to swap out the bulbs to 5000k but replacements for H16 are few and far between. Appreciate any help.

Yes, it is H16 and yes u will burn ur wiring, that's more than double the wattage.

I couldn't find any colored H16 bulbs when I was looking for one a few months ago. There are 2 types of H16, make sure u get one that looks like an H11 bulb, not the one with wings on the side. Most eBay bulbs are the wrong H16s.

If it were me I would returned it fpr a full refund. Just tell them the part order was wrong part number. I wouldnt mess with adding a a H11 bulb and risk a car fire. Why cheap out and risk damaging your $60K car? Also please not that the whole purpose of a fog light is better visability and better looks. This H16 has neither. H16 is rediculously dim for fog like your better of not spending precious time just to have light that make almost %0 difference to your visability. Not only that but its d@mn hard to find a 5000k - 6000k bulb for it because its so dim no one want it. Heck, i even feel lile the H11 55w bulbs are too dim and preder a LED or HID replacement to make it worth your time and energy to do this install. Anyways thats my advice. Good luck to your install.

Decided i'd cut my losses and try to get my money back. $40 sounded too good to be true and it was. Are there other foglight kits available or is nigel my best bet for this? Im guessing the nigel kit comes with H11 bulbs and proper harness?
