No, that's not mine, but an image of the screen I found that happens to be a couple years old.

The only time I'm going to hit 40 MPG is if my traveling consists of only coasting downhill...and there is no flat or uphill travel.

How is it the best mileage is 34.3MPG and the average is 42.2MPG. Does not compute. LOL

At first glance it doesn't make any sense, but... It appears the 'Average' is for Today only (far right light-shaded block). And the 'Best' is for any previous day that has been recorded. That's my best guess...

This "Past Record" screen works kinda funny.. when you click Update, it stores that as the "Past Record" even though you may have gotten better on many occasions I noticed (and you can see by the pic).. So it seems you need to manually click update to record your "best" (even if its not your best) mpg, as the car will not recall this for you.. strange as this "feature" seems to me.

When you are on the "Trip Information" screen that will show your average for that trip, your real time mpg, and your average recorded mpg every last minute for the past 15 minutes of driving, which is pretty cool and much more useful than this Past Record view..

You can definitely see it is possible to exceed the mileage estimates too however, depending on driving conditions. I dont think you can get over 40 for any length of time though with the car, though I havent had the best test conditions yet myself with only 1500 miles on her still.

Just back today from Vegas, 2800 miles round trip, average 27.3MPG from my driveway to Vegas and back. That's by the car's computer. I didn't keep track myself. On long flat stretches we were getting 32MPG even with cruise pegged to 80mph. We got the lowest in the Texas hill country and Wickenburg highway in AZ, 25mpg. A lot of 6to7% grades on hills. Some observations. The car is very quiet cruising down the highway, only heard the engine when accelarating to highway speeds. A lot of cruise control 75-80, except for one stretch from Kingman AZ to Hoover Dam. Cruise set at 95, and wasn't passing too many folks even at that speed. Seats are very comfy, even for long stretches. We used the Enform Bing voice searches to find places along the way. The voice recognition system works really well, having no problem searching for Red Rock Casino or Hard Rock Casino, and getting it right the first time. We both enjoyed the XM radio. Right now there are several stations with Xmas music- we must have heard Burl Ives sing Have a holly jolly Christmas 10 times

From my drive Texas to Vegas in Nov

60 mph on the street ? are you that annoying guy always tailgating everyone so they can drive faster ? LoL..

When someone gets all up on my *** wanting me to go faster I simply slow down even more, and wait when they try to pass me, I mash down on the accelerator and make them feel like a moron. However, no one even tries me when im rolling with the M5 or Challenger, but when im in the GS it seems every douchbag wants to show me how fast they can drive.

I would not do that here in Arizona. Too many drivers are armed!

Count me disappointed. Was getting around 19 with my V8 LS460. Averaged 19.1 on my last tankful with my 2015 GS.

I hate going to the gas station. Now I'm going even more with the GS's smaller tank.

Another thing- what's with the Lexus hybrids? The ES is the only one that gets decent gas mileage. How about a diesel?

I am a physician, and my humble medical opinion is that you need to see a mental health care provider.
