OMG this car is damn gorgeous! I cannot believe how well the executed the design and it looks perfect in real life in the pics!! God I am itching for one. Forget the Audi A7 or S7... I may even get this even with RWD. I got a perfect set of snow tires and rims on my current GS F-Sport. Lease is up in 2 months though. Not sure what I can do. Maybe extend the lease?

There are tests in mainstream mags already.

4.3 0-60, 12.7/112 1/4 mile. Motor Trend comparison to M4

Of course I am already aware of this test, but by past experience, often the best times weren't recorded and published by some sources for months or even a year after a car was introduced, we'll see ...

Why would the times from magazines get better as time goes on?

GSF is a lot better looking than the boring bland M5 at least. M5 looks like a very large E46. I just doesn't stand out which is a shame considering its an M car. I pointed to an M5 with my friend and he thought it was a regular 5 series.

It's more about roll on performance that people feel.
I agree. Perfect example is the HellCat with 707 HP. 707 is no good on launch when you can't hook up. You just end up smokin' a lot of rubber. You can have 1000 HP, but to me it's useless if you can't hook up.

They are not related, but the physical environment varies when tests are done, also different drivers, so there is usually a range of times with a large # of tests. Some cars don't really open up until they have a few thousand miles on it ...

IF you are talking about 0-60 , quartet mile, I am quite sure E63 and M5 should be faster, my point is just that you can't use the Official times published by the manufacturers and compare for both the Japanese and Germans.
Examples I remember , the 2 IS350 published time by Lexus is like 5.5 or 5.6, initial tests by some mags did not even get that, but many months later, one mag actually got 5.1 at least, another 4.9 (this one not too sure)

My previous G35 coupe 6MT was listed by Infiniti at 5.9 sec, but it's almost 2 years after It's introduced that some source recorded as fast as 5.4 or 5.5 sec .....

I've posted this before:

A quote:

Yes, cars like this give you bragging rights at the lodge. My car is more powerful than your car, which means my ***** must be larger. But what's the point of all that power when you daren't ever use it?

Any car with more than 700 horsepower is daft. You don't ever need or want more than 500. And, truth be told, most of the time, 250 is plenty.

I agree on the M5. Looks meh. For that money, I too would rather get M6 gran coupe. Stunning, indeed. Such presence.

M6 GC is significantly more expensive than even the M5.

So what do we think about the stance? Is that an altered promotional stance only where the production model is 1/2-3/4" higher? Seems ridiculous to spend $80K+ on a car to only have to immediately modify the suspension lower.

One would think that if it's truly an F model, everything should be race inspired out of the box.

Yeah the first thing I thought when I saw this car is that it's sitting a little too high.
