Now that u mentioned it, I think ur right. It always took me several shots to get my car to look good on camera and I keep thinking why did it come out weird when it looks good when I'm standing in front of it.

I am just happy to have a GS that have the most powerful V8 that Lexus ever offer, by far. This thing is an awesome beater in the not too distant future.

It's also going to depend on how they price it. If it's in the low- to mid-70's nicely equipped, it could be interesting. If it's mid-80's nicely equipped (as some in this thread have suggested), it will be a non-starter for me.... I'd just go with the 550i and sacrifice ~20 HP, but pick up nearly 100 lb-ft of torque for $10K+ less in price. All of the cars you mention have less horsepower, but significantly higher torque because of their FI engines. In everyday driving, the power of those cars will be much more usable/accessible (fwiw, the E550 sedan is discontinued)

After seeing that video, I am liking what I see! It does look better in 3 dimension and seems well executed. We will see how it is in person.

Default GSF = 4 dr RCF

So the chief engineer basically confirmed that the GSF is a 4dr RCF. It might be safe to assume the following:
1- Pricing is close to RCF's
2- Performance should be compared to M3/4

I would think a 4door RCF would be the new IS-F unless that will be faded out completely but the new GS-F with RC F engine is somewhat expected imo in the New F lineup

A 550 isn't going to be $10k less in price if a GS-F is in the 80s unless you buy one base with absolutely no options.

They gotta stop saying the GS F is the answer to the M5, E63, RS6, CTS-V b/c it isn't-damn it!!!

Lexus is doing its own thing!

Take that sarcasm fwiw in relation to the lower hp grief.

LEXUS call this car a GS F, so it's an unavoidable result that the media will state that it's their answer regardless ......

Perhaps Lexus IS doing things differently? If I were in the market for a hot 4dr sedan, for similar money, I'd pick the GS-F over the IS-F simply due to more usable rear seats.
Then there is the possibility of adding a hotter version when Lexus has FI V8?

A 550i starts at $64.9K. So you can can get a nicely equipped 550i in the mid-70's. It won't be loaded, but it won't be a "base with absolutely no options".

The loaded up RC-F is over $70K

The loaded up GSh 450 F-Sport is very high $70s

This GS-F base will likely start at $75k, but none will be available with the "base" package, so tack on the $10K for the packages and you're looking at high $80s for the GS-F. And dealers will likely not be willing to budge much on the price, since it's "new".

I will wait to see how it's accepted by everyone and if it lives up to the hype. I've got 24 months on my current lease, so I'm in no hurry to rush right out and get this...especially since it's not available until the fall.

A 550 can have a good amount of equipment in the $76-78,000 range. Mine is a 2012 and it listed for a hair under 76,000 and it is quite well equipped actually. They have gone up a bit since then, but not a lot except on certain options that are not all that important to most. It's also possible much of the time to get very significant discounts on 5 series. $5-6000 would be a pretty common discount available.

I have to agree with you (well, except that I'm not buying one).
