Unfortunately I have premium stereo, so what are the best settings for it?
I have the premium stereo in my 15 f sport. I know its sub par (no pun intended), but no dealers had the ml cars and I got a great deal. I was wondering if anyone knew of the best settings for this stereo to optimize its sound. Bass, treble, mid, surround, balance, fade, etc. Thanks guys.

I think the base stereo in my GS is pretty good.
As for settings, I like high treble, high bass, mid mid balance and fade center and surround on.
Oddly enough, most of the people who complain about XM quality have the ML system. I think XM sounds fine on my premium system. Since thats what I listen to 95% of the time I'm kind of happy I have the premium system.

I always set my audio settings flat and just let the music sound as good or bad as it is.
Adjusting the tone settings to make one song sound better nevitably make another song sound worse.

Yea the Premium audio in this car isn't bad at all. I used to have a factory equipped JBL premium option on my Camry and the Lexus Premium sounds better I think.
The ML system is lacking bass, I had to put it all the way up whereas on the Premium I normally set it to +2 or +3 I can already feel the bass. Yea I like my music a little boomy.
I have the same settings for my ML and Premium.
Treble: +2
Mid: +3
Bass: ML maxed out / Premium +2 or 3
Surround ON and everything else is centered.

Can you tell me more about the jbl ms-8. It looks like it has a remote and screen. I don't want any of that. I just want to have all the controls going through the factory head unit.

Sounds great with better quality feed as well ... direct connect or bluetooth.
I recently had a ES350 ultra with ML for a loaner for about 4 days while they ordered and replaced my base unit with a new one ..... had a amp cooling fan bearing become noisy. My wife and I did not like that it at all. I was so happy to be back in my car.
Several people who have been in my car think it sounds great as well.
Dont cut your base unit too short.

Do you have your ASL (Automatic Sound Levelizer, which automatically adjusts the volume and tone quality according to the vehicle speed) turned On or Off?

MS-8 is more of a set it and forget it type device. You don't really need the screen once it is wired in and setup.
Basically it is the entry level into active sound EQ. You'd have to make sure it is compatible with your current gear though.
