Default Which would you choose?

I am looking at 2 GS 350's right now. The basic information is:

1. 2013 GS350 Liquid Platinum exterior. It is pretty much fully loaded. F-Sport, ML stereo, heads up display, blind spot monitor, and more. It doesn't have the cold weather package. It has just under 20,000 miles. They are asking $60,000 which will never happen.

2. 2014 GS350 dark gray. It has the blind spot monitor (which gives the RCTA). It only has 3,000 miles. They are asking $50,000 which is pretty good.
They are both from Lexus dealers (different dealers). The 2014 is CPO. I don't know about the 2013. If the 2013 was $50,000 (same price) and CPO, would you go for newer with less miles or more features?

I really would like the ML system. The heads up display is nice but not a deal breaker. Obviously the mileage is a huge plus on the 2014. Some people prefer the 6 speed of the 2013 to the 8 speed of the 2014.

The ML for me is everything, just got my second GS with it in the the new ML is even better. The price for the F Sport is very close to a new one, the 2014 is a decent price but 20,000 on a Lexus is barely run in.

I'd go for the older one with more features and more miles, especially if it was CPO. Test drive both and see whether you prefer 6 or 8 speed. The price they're asking seems a little high though. Good luck.

For those prices, you aren't very far away from a well-negotiated new one with whatever options you want, especially considering the 2015's aren't far off..

Yeah, that $60K price tag on the 20k mile used one is absurd. I'm willing to bet the original owner didn't even pay $60K when it was new.

You can get a new 2014 F Sport, with ML for 52k, so this isn't priced all that well. And the 52k might be high as that was the price a month ago and the pressure to sell the 14's is increasing with the production of the 15's close to starting (if it hasn't already).

You can go to Santa Monica Lexus to get option 1 but new and the dynamic steering, and I believe you could talk them down to 55k

I agree...get a 2015 the way you really want at a fair price will be better deal in long run.

For reference, I got my LP F-Sport with ML, HUD, DRS, and BSM used with 10k miles for a tip under $50k. The car was originally bought in Feb, 2012 and I picked it up Oct 2012.

I think option #1 is way overpriced with the miles. People are getting 60k MSRP GS350 F sports for around 52k so if these are your only two options, I would go with option 2 but in reality like other members have stated, you can probably get a better deal on a new car.

Completely agree that Option #1 is way overpriced. My car is virtually identical to what you described, with 16k miles, and I wouldn't expect to even get $40k for it on a trade. But if you can get them down to a reasonable price, that would be the one I would choose because that's the one I have and I love it. (I actually did pay $60k for mine in April 2012 because I was an early adopter and I ordered it.)

Although, as others have said, for those prices you could get a brand new '14 model.

I agree with you all. The 2013 is way overpriced. Even at $50,000 I think it is high for the age and mileage. It makes sense to wait until the 2015 models are out. I don't mind buying used but expect to get a fair price at that point. It sounds like the 2014 is also high based on the features. I am best holding off for now.

2015 models will have glitter in the paint, so wait.
