Default Found something new about power tilt mirror function

I just found out that you can adjust how far down the mirrors tilts. When I first bought my car from the dealership I noticed that the backup mirror only tilts very little. I played around a little bit and found out it can be adjusted independently to the up position when in drive.

Adjust this setting at your own risk. I am not responsible for any accidents or damages to your vehicle if dont incorrectly. This is meant for reference only.

1. First park your car in a level road.
2. Put the car in park.
3. Adjust both side mirrors to your personal preference allowing view of the road and as much of the blindspot as possible.
4. While holding the brake pedal put the car into reverse, make sure not to release the brakes until finished adjusting.
5. When you put the car into reverse the mirrors will tilt down.
6. While mirrors are tilted down proceed to adjust the mirror to desired tilt position.
7. Do the same thing to the other side mirror.
8. Put the car into park and check to see if everything is adjusted correctly.
9. Save these settings into the seat memory button.
10. You are now finished!
Depending how much you have adjusted now you can parallel park and see the curb with your side mirror!

Also, you have to have one of the mirror buttons selected for this to change when you back up. So if you plan on backing up and you dont want your side mirrors to tilt down then de-select the mirror button (make sure no light is illuminated on your mirror controls), then shift into reverse.

Great post. Seems to me that my driver's side mirror tilts down and passenger side mirror comes in when in reverse. Likely a setting that may have been saved by the previous owner. Will have to make the changes.

Yep, figured this out and have been using it for a while. It's nice using the "curb finder" when parallel parking.

I always thought they just went down a certain amount stock. I read this post and looked how mine adjusted. Sure enough my passenger barely goes down. Now I can personalize it. This definitely comes in hand when parallel parking to keep the rims clean. Thanks again, OP!

Lexus could have engineered it to tilt down a preset amount if they wanted to in order to cut cost. But luckily they did not skimp on this feature. Gotta love Lexus.
