Question How to de-activate Blue Dash Gauge Light

I was test driving a new Lexus GS350 AWD today in order to place my order and I noticed a blue light appear above the gauges every time I took my foot off the accelerator. Quite annoying. I didn't readily see a setting to disable in the onboard dash computer. Can anyone please tell me that this blue light 'special' can be turned off permanently?

I don't know if the blue light can be turned off.The first time I've read of this complaint.
Use one of the Sport modes and the light will be red.

Yes the red light looked good with the Carbernet leather interior... just that the blue light really was distracting. Like it was signalling me to get back on the gas and go LOL

I believe there is a setting to keep it solid as opposed to variable within the display settings accessed through the DISP button on the steering wheel.
Edit- what FishBike said lol.

Ha, it's supposed to do the opposite of that and encourage 'eco driving'!

But yes, this is one of those things you can customize yourself, by using the DISP button on the steering wheel. You click it quickly to scroll through items, and hold it down to select them:

With the car in park and engine running, click the DISP button until "Settings" comes up in the middle of the gauges. Then press and HOLD the DISP button until "Item Selection" comes up.

Click the DISP buttom again to scroll through the items. ECO Lamp should be one of them. When that is highlighted, press and hold the DISP button until the ECO lamp settings come up.

You can now click the DISP button to scroll through the settings for the lamp. Sounds like the setting you want is OFF. When that is highlighted, press and hold the DISP button to set it.

That should take you back to "Item Selection" where you can click DISP until EXIT is highlighted, then press and hold DISP to get out of the settings menu.

Yup, you can set it to do that and show you when you are driving conservatively, you can set it to be always blue, or you can turn it off. Mines off.

Thanks for the assistance! I missed looking on the steering wheel for the settings there with so much to take in.

Just note that if you set to ON, then it will remain blue (not turn red) when you are in Sport/Sport + mode.

Yup, thats the only reason I don't have it set to ON for the blue.

Is there a way to keep it red all the time? without having to turn it to sport mode?

LOL - You can make it solid blue through the car settings.. It's almost impossible to keep that thing at solid blue when driving if you know what I mean!

Yes, same menu as described above (accessed via the 'DISP' button on the steering wheel with the car parked, engine running) has the option to turn off the red "sport" lamp.
