Default Everyone check ur spare tire area for water

I found a lot of water build up in my spare tire area no idea where it came from. Nothing up top is wet or damp. Gotta take it to the dealer

I wash my car every week or two. No water build up here when ever I check my spare tire pressure. Curious what you find out tho!

Is there any water damage to the particle board that is used to cover the spare tire area? That will be your first indication on where the water is coming from. If not, then it is coming from the bottom, however, if there is a hole underneath the tire, the water would drain on its own...

Weird.

Isn't there a drain hole under the spare tire? Maybe it's missing and letting water in?

I own a car wash and wash it everyday. But nothing wet other then just that spot in the spare tire area. All the drain plugs are there. Weird as ****

I would suggest removing the trunk liner near your rear tail light area first and checking for moisture there. If you have a loose plug in your deck , water would still have to get past your under carriage covering to get in through there. If you find water anywhere near the tail light inner deck area then you have a gap somewhere near your foam rubber seal around the tail lights. I do not know if you pressure wash your car, but if you do; water can make it past that sometimes. I had some experience with that during my VW Golf days but not with any Lexus. Unless those areas were previously disturbed or removed, you should be water tight for a long while. Hope it helps. The worst case is mold developing throughout your trunk lining, and you don't want that at all.

Does this model have holes by the sunroof that carry built up water for disposal? Does the water go to the back or front of the car?

Good point here! My previous 2007 ES350 was building up some moisture around the front seatbelt.

Just found my trunk space filled with water!I removed the drain plugs(and everything else in there).Floormat was soaked too.The vertical liner was dry all around.I hosed down the rear window but found no leaking from there, trunk rubber is fine. Will take it to the local "Glassmaster" to have it checked. Will return.
