I've been shopping for about a month and have it narrowed down to TWO cars:
I put about 25-30K a year mainly Hwy/Interstate miles, mixture PA/NJ-MD/Carolinas

2014 ES350 W/ Nav & Leather package MSRP $44500.00
Nebula Grey/Grey Interior

2013 GS 350 w/Luxury Package MSRP New $57,000.00 ..8,500K miles
Nebula Grey/Grey Interior.

I'm 65 so don't go there with the "F" Sport Package

GS350 pros:
interior cabin awesome, RWD, 12 Nav, Handling ,Rear seat controls& Window Shades. QUICK!!!
more Quiet than ES ,Better quality parts
Cons:
rear seat smaller that ES350, CPO 3yr 100,000 warranty.

ES350 Pros
Price, more space, New Car warranty , Mileage
Cons:
little lower on quality level, little more cabin noise, FWD

Pricing w/o TTL:
2014 ES 350.....$39,750.00
2013 GS 350....$43,000.00

so the real choice is do I spend the Extra $3000-$3250 for the GS?

I say go with what your gut is telling you. How do you feel in each car?

I think with a few more grands you should be able to find a new 2013 due to the release of 2014. GS all the way unless you need that extra room in the back.

I would say the GS. The seats in the GS are the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in....in any car! The GS interior is second only to the LS. Even then, they are very similar. You also will really like the NAV screen in the GS.

I think it all depends. GS is a sport luxury sedan where as ES is a near luxury sedan. That's why there's the price difference.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of used cars, even CPOs. Who knows what that car went through. With that said, if I had a choice between the two and that's the budget I have, I would choose the ES.

Another option: Have you looked into the new 13 GSs if you don't mind spending a few grand more? Stealerships will give you substantial discount. My neighbor got 12K off the MSRP on his 2013 GS 350 RWD non-sport in CA.

Go for the GS! CPO are usually pretty safe buys...

You should be able to find a brand new leftover 2013 GS Luxury for the same price as the CPO. Don't let 'em gouge you. To me, 57K is ridiculously high when the car already has 8500 miles. The TTL is more like it. It's worth the much smaller difference, should you decide to stick with the CPO.

I had an ES as a loaner and found the interior really subpar to the GS (as it should be for the price). Also, I could never get comfortable in the short seats. The seats in the GS are as good as it gets. Also, although you may not drive like a "bat out of hell" there is something to be said for a car that handles well and isn't floaty because it can keep you out of accidents. I found the ES to be very imprecise in the way it handled compared to the GS.

As others have said, you can probably get a great deal on a leftover '13 GS.

I love my GS. The wife's ES is OK. But the GS is much better, IMO.

Go with the new ES and spend the extra money on something fun (health insurance, etc.?).

Sidebar. With all that driving why not a ES300h? The MPG would make a huge difference!

I might lean towards the ES350 with all that driving given that you drive in the snow belt and with 30k a year chances are you will venture out during winter

BTW, in either case Nebula/Light Gray is a great combination. Hard to go wrong with either car.

GS…..the cars are on different wavelengths…no offense to the ES….you are 65, treat yourself…every time you step in the GS, you will smile...
