Default Advice on deal for 2013 GS 350

Hi, since my 2010 GS350 has been totaled after a bad accident (got rearended)...I need a new car. What do you guys suggest as a good price on this car:

I just got offered to buy this car:
2013 GS350 AWD with only Black with Flax interior and only 4500 miles. There is cosmetic damage that the Lexus dealership retail body shop estimates will cost $7,700.00 to repair. May possibly be repaired for much less elsewhere. CarFax vehicle history report is clean, no accidents or issues showing. All damage purely cosmetic, vehicle performance not affected. Otherwise vehicle is in excellent condition with the remainder of the Lexus factory warranty. Original MSRP $55,032.00 includes Navigation System, Blind Spot Monitor, Intuitive Park Assist, Cold Weather Package and Premiuim Package. This vehicle has spent it's life in Florida and shows no signs of Northern weather...but I am sure this car will see plenty of snow this winter.

I would appreciate some suggestions from some of you more seasoned experts...thanks!

I'm a little confused. Lexus wants to sell you a 2013 GS with 4.500 miles, and $7,700 worth of damage? What happened to the car, and why haven't they fixed it?

Unless you're getting that car in the high 30's I wouldn't even bother. What type of damage does it have?

This is a 3rd party car dealer that has the car and had a Lexus Collision center evaluate/estimate the damage...so I'd be buying it from him. The pics look like all side damage...and Lexus says the frame/unibody is unaffected...only cosmetic damage.
I was thinking with such low milage, if I can get it for $36K and have someone fix it cheaper...or let Lexus do it and be out the door at $44K.
That is where I need advice from the message board...thanks!

It would still come out to roughly $40K. So, you'll be getting a car for $40K that was in an accident......

Right now for $43K - $45K range you can find a mint used GS with slightly higher mileage, with 0 damage.

It's your choice, but If I were buying a car, I would find an extra $4K and buy the car without any prior damage.

2013 Brand new is going for $48,500. So my advice do NOT buy damaged car! buy it used or new.

I just bought a brand new 2013 GS from Lexus of Orlando, it was the last 2013 they had. It has everything your car has with the exception of blind spot monitor but it has Lexus pinstripes and a spoiler also.

Sticker was in the $54k range. The dealer offered it to me for $44,500. I said take another $2k off and I will take it, they said "Sold" so I paid $42,500 for a brand new (33 miles) 2013 GS350 with Premium package with Nav.

It doesn't sound like you are getting a very good deal to me.

I'd run away from it. Take your time and try to find another one. There're plenty of 13 GS350s out there. Happy Holidays.

Good point...I don't think I will take this deal for any more than $42K...but waiting till 1/1/14 might get me a the ideal car I want (would prefer a lighter color than black). Thanks for the reply.

Good advice...I think I will wait it out.
I keep getting advice from friends to look at Audi A6...I am just afraid of straying away from Lexus Reliability...

Searching in Pa. there are a good number of low mileage GSs in the low $40s. I say wait for the right one as opposed to one you'd have to repair.

The cold weather package on cars here (Florida) is not as unusual as you may think. I moved here 4 years ago from Wisconsin and I was quite surprised that about 80% of the BMW's, Audi's, and Lexus's here had a cold weather package of some kind. My 2013 GS has heated seats and I probably will never use them. The ventilated seats on the other hand....

I actually used my heated seats last week when the overnight temps dropped into the 40's...Which to those of us in FL is a deep freeze!
