Question Frontal area of the 4th gen GS 350

The official Lexus brochure (link here) shows the drag coefficient is 0.27 for all models of the GS 350, but it doesn't list frontal area.

This Road & Track article (link here) lists both the drag coefficient and frontal area for the 2014 Lexus IS 350 F Sport: 0.28 drag coefficient and 22.9 ft^2 frontal area.

I think the 2014 IS 350 is based on the 4th generation GS 350--it certainly looks like they have similar proportions--so I'd venture the GS's frontal area is not far off the IS's.

Anyone know what the actual frontal area is of the 4th generation GS 350?

I never thought about needing to know that bit and not sure what good the information would be unless you are pre-calculating the cost of clear bra.

For my other cars, I used it to calculate theoretical lap times, drag times, and max speeds at the end of various straights on tracks with and without various mods installed (without having to buy the mods first). A more accurate method would be to buy, install, and test each mod, but that's a bit expensive and also a lot of actual effort compared to a little of my free time on the weekend sitting in front of a computer.

For the GS, it's just needed as an input for the Harry's Lap Timer iPhone app. For now, I used 23.5 ft^2, figuring the GS might be a tad bigger than the IS.

I don't know that particular answer but I do know that the European Swallow has an average wingspan of 28–30 cm and needs to beat those wings at a 14 Hz rate with a 23 cm peak-to-peak amplitude to maintain airspeed velocity.

Nismo, I did a Google and found this: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ement-462.html

It may help you in your quest.
