Remote Start

I have it and love it, I know there are complaints about the range but I don't have any issues with mine at all. I live in a condo on the top floor (4) and my car has to be like 200' from my window and it works just fine.

In the parking garage where I work, I have to be about 100' away.

I could see that, I think garages are a little different. The many cars get in the way of the signal and if your car is pointed away from you it wont pick it up as well. If you have a straight shot at the windshield it should work a lot better.

Remote start is a great option, the factory Lexus remote start isn't worth it because of poor range and it shutting the engine off when a button is pressed.

So for those that have a driveway and garage you're saying it's not worth it? On cold days I would love if my engine is already warmed up and I can run the heat as soon as I get in the vehicle.

I park it in the garage, so at home theres no point. I like the remote start when out places, we have it in the Jeep and use it a lot.
The issue is that Lexus' system is terrible. The range is poor, its hard to know if you've activated it without looking at the car while pushing the buttons because the press sequence is complex, and when you walk up to the car and open the door, instead of getting in it all toasty warm...the car shuts off. In our Jeep it stays on, and you get in and press the start button and it cycles to full run mode.
Love the remote start in the Jeep, hate it in the Lexus.
