Default Viper alarm / auto start

I was wondering if anyone has this installed on their GS?
I was looking around and I found out that having an aftermarket alarm system such as VIPER would void warranty and could possibly interfeer with the computer system of the vehicle?
Does anyone have any knowledge of VIPER alarms being adaptable to our vehicles?

I installed Viper alarms for ~7 years.

Proper installation will not void warranty.

Directed (the company who makes Viper) alarm/remote starts out perform the Lexus factory remote start by leaps and bounds. It blows my mind that anyone would ever purchase the Lexus factory system when superior aftermarket systems are available.

Any qualified installer should be able to properly interface a Viper alarm into any Lexus.

I have the viper remote start only. It works fine, but only thing is once I go to open the doors the car shuts off, its sorta annoying that I have to get in and re-start the car, but I only use it when it's freezing/really hot.....

If you have a Viper remote start and it works like this, your system was installed incorrectly.

Thanks for all your great inputs. I've heard many people complain about our generation GS has a problem with the auto start. Meaning, once started, open door and shuts off. You've mentioned that properly installed auto starts wouldn't do this. Not to question your expertise but did you ever install an auto start system on a 4 GS and was able to manage to fix this function?

I have installed Viper remote starts on other push button smart key vehicles.

I don't have access to the technical resources I used to, but am still confident it can be done. Even a few years ago when I was still in the business there were lazy installers who told customers it couldn't be done, even though it was possible.

Xpresskit does make interface kits for smartkey systems.
